I have been using Articulate Presenter output (for marketing content only, no assessments) in my blog site using the Wordpress plugin for Articulate. I would like to know if a similar plugin exists for Storyline.
Another unrelated question: Can I export the Storyline output to MP4 or another video format.
I have a site that is supported by Wordpress.com, and I was looking for the plugin, and I didn't found any. Then I realized it was .com instead of .org.
My question is: does anyone know if it's possible to change to .org and if it's easy?
Hi Belen - WordPress.COM is the hosting platform of WordPress while the .ORG is the overall organization that develops WordPress. So, if you use the free hosting service, you'll use WordPress.COM but if you want to host your own site (GoDaddy or Media Temple, or other company) then you'd download WordPress from WordPress.org and install on your own servers. More info here.
To move your blog from WordPress.com is possible, but you should first set up a domain name (BelenCasado.com or something like that) using a hosting provider (GoDaddy, Media Temple, etc).
WordPress lets you export your content in a format that can be imported into another site (WordPress or other). Here's where you can learn more about that: Exporting content from WordPress.
Hosting your own site will open up LOTS of functional possibilities. And it's not really difficult to setup. Most hosts provide wizards for basic setup. If you have some basic HTML know-how and can follow along with a tutorial (as linked by the mystical David A above) you'll be just fine
In fact, I do have my own domain, but I didn't know how many things can be done hosting my site. It's really a chage from a hobby to a professional site. Well, I'll read carefully this info and I'll tell you how it goes.
I'm really grateful, I'm really learning day by day thanks to this community
@Belen - Steve mentioned "wizards for basic setup" and I just wanted to expand on that. You should look for hosting companies that include "one-click installs" for WordPress. I think most established companies offer one-click installs, so you should never have to manually create a database and upload WordPress. Bluehost, Dreamhost, GoDaddy, and MediaTemple are all good companies I've used.
I used the Insert or Embed Articulate Content into Wordpress Plug in and was able to pull it off. Felt great.
However, I am stuck now because the lightbox is small and requires the user to scroll up and down and left and right to see all of the functionality of my Storyline content (audio buttons, question types, even graphic design). I left a comment for Brian, the maker of the plug in, underneath his tutorial and I just figured I would try here as well. Here is a link to my site so you can see how what I am talking about. Just click on any exercise on that page and you'll see what I am talking about.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the lightbox bigger or make the Storyline content smaller? I cannot assume my students will figure it out on their own so I would prefer to figure this problem out before purchasing Storyline. By the way, I already removed all special characters and spaces from the Zip folder before uploading and that didn't solve my problem.

Hi, I purchased the plugin. I was hoping it would work in WordPress Multi Site. It does not. The plugin owner is working on a fix for it with this developer. I wish Articulate would expand its functionality to WordPress and other Web 2.0 open source software.
Yup - we get some spam in here, and as moderators we also serve to answer questions and point users in the right direction. Only your first post has to be "moderated" and after that, you'll be good to go for posting additional questions.

Ben, which plugin did you purchase that didn't work with multisite? We also run a wpmu network and I wanted to avoid that one. I found two solutions, but because you said you "Paid" for it, it must be the first right?
The first is more specific to using and embedding articulate in WP ($99)...

Hi Ben,
Just a quick heads up that the plugin now supports Wordpress Multi-site:
This thread is a bit older so I'm not certain if Pankaj is still subscribed. You may want to reach out to him directly using the "contact me" button on his profile to see if he's able to share more specifics of what he set up.
There is a Wordpress plugin now for running SL2 courses/files by Brian Batt called "Insert or Embed Articulate Content into Wordpress" The trial version allows for 3 uploads. If you buy the premium plugin it's important to NOT remove the trial version as it is required for the premium plugin to work. And work it does!!! Really appreciating it!
All of a sudden my Storyline 2 files that I uploaded with Brian Batt's plugin are no longer working properly. The files were successfully uploaded and previously working. I'm wondering if it's a WP update issue.

I am not aware of a Wordpress plugin for Storyline. Storyline content does not output in a single file format.
Hi Payal,
David Anderson made a tutorial about how to include an Articulate course on a Wordpress site using a lightbox:

Perhaps this method might work for you until a Storyline plug-in is developed.
Hi Payal,
I think you can use this plugin to insert Storyline into Wordpress.

In the while, I have to share my courses in PDF.
Thanks a lot!!

Hi David and Steve,
Thank you very much for your answers!

Thanks again, David, I was more or less tranquil about this cause my sites are hosted in GoDaddy
Anyway, I'll try this all this weekend, and let you know how it goes.
Soon I'll be able to share some demos and examples on my website!

Hi, curious as to why in a forum of replies where members sign up that a moderator is necessary. Perhaps there's spam?

And the second is just a tricked out Lightbox plugin (Free)

Replying to an old post but it might still be relevant to many. You can use a plugin called GrassBlade xAPI Companion.
Here is a YouTube video showing how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_sExCSSH1c
You can use it for HTML5 packages as well as Tin Can version for both Articulate Storyline and Articulate Studio.
If you use Tin Can package, you can track scores, and progress, for which you will also need an LRS.
Thanks Pankaj for sharing that here.
My pleasure.

Yes, you can use GrassBlade xAPI Companion to host Articulate content without tracking. You would not need an LRS if you don't need tracking.

thanks Sylvia for sharing that and happy to hear it works for you.
Madly trying to upload a story.html to wordpress.org.
Files are in godaddy. I've tried various options from blogs - trying to avoid buying a $100 plugin.
Any progress people have made?
Hello Ingrid - Hopefully someone in the community will chime in to assist you with this soon and I know that Ashley addressed a similar question here.
All of a sudden my Storyline 2 files that I uploaded with Brian Batt's plugin are no longer working properly. The files were successfully uploaded and previously working. I'm wondering if it's a WP update issue.
Anyone else seeing this problem?
