Hi Sam! Our illustrators primarily use Creative Suite to create their graphics. You can learn more about their toolkit in Greg Christman's AMA:

From experience most illustrators use Adobe illustrator for graphic design elements, particularly flat/illustrative designs like icons. I personally prefer to use Photoshop as I primarily use gradients and photo elements in my designs, but Photoshop does have other limitations.
If you are interested in making or sourcing your own you could use sites like Flaticon or the Noun Project for inspiration.
Thank you Kelly and Chris for the responses, they have been super helpful. I have been primarily been using powerpoint shapes to create my images but have been experiencing many limitations.
A little disappointed that the buttons I downloaded are white and purple, but the ones in the preview have more of a cyan background which looks great on the yellow.

Using Snagit, how do you change the background colour to the ones I must use as the official colours in my company. For example a specific shade of blue/grey.

These are great, but how do I get them into Storyline so I can edit the colors? Inserting them as an image doesn't allow me to do that, and I can't find instructions for importing a button set.
