Hey Zuber! You would be able to adjust the font, or anything for that matter, of the menu from the Slide Master menu. Click the View tab then Slide Master. You should be able to make any changes you need there. Hope that helps! Have a good one.
Thanks a ton JD!! This has reallly worked for me. I hope it works out well, when I will use it in my course development. Does this customization with menu, hamper any publishing issue.
yes we can edit menu item text from master view. But when menu closing, all the menu text changing like that.. menu item 1, menu item 2...
how can we edit them?
yes, let me reply :)
these items are in the hide menu layer...
it would be good to change them in the same place. can we connect these text areas to a variable?
Love the design! Really cant figure out how to adapt and utilise, even after messing with the Master slide view? Here, Here for a tutorial video please...
I have found a video, if you click on Jeff's name it'll take you to his BLOG and there it is.... I'm still trying to figure out how to adapt but that's just me.
Hi everyone, good to hear so many positive responses: There actually is a video on how it was done and you can find that via my personal blog: http://www.seriouslearning.nl/animated-menu-for-storyline-2-w-source-file/
The menu is on a master slide which has 2 slide layers; SHOW and HIDE, adjust the menu items there and voila!
Jeff. I really like what you have done. I tried something similar a long while ago, but it was not as elegant. :) Many of my clients like to see the Notes, so now I am wondering if additional layers could be created to view notes in the same fashion. This way, all could be tucked away unless the learner chooses to view them --
Jeff, I do not have to track completion. Should I just delete those triggers found on the SHOWMENU layer?
I am using this to allow people to pick from three different videos. Not a training course. Just a way to get to the videos on SharePoint without individual hyperlinks to each video. Thanks.

Hi, I've got the side menu working great from my master slide but I've ran into a problem & I really need help fixing it. The titles on my slides disappear when I click on the side menu & reappear when I have clicked to close the side menu. This seems to have only just started & I don't know what has changed. How can I stop this happening so that the title of the section is shown even when the side menu is being used? Thanks
I encountered a similar problem. I believe that when accessing the slide master layer (through the hamburger button) the base layer gets reset to default (closing the currently active layer). It's probably related to the fact that no 2 layers can be active at the same time. Can they? I would love to know a way around this. Any help would be apprciated! Cheers.
Hi Lisa and Michael,
I note that your comments were a year ago so I'm not sure if your question still needs answering, but I might be able to help.
When you click on the "hamburger" it opens the menu as a layer. The default setting for a layer is to "Hide other slide layers" which as a result closes any layers you may have open, showing the base layer of the particular slide you're on while the new layer opens - in this case the menu.
You can change this setting by clicking on the little gear icon next to the layer name (in this case it would be the menu layer in the slide master). Once you've opened this menu you will see the slide layer properties, uncheck the "Hide other slide layers" check box.
This should solve your problem of things disappearing when you open the menu, ... Expand

This should solve your problem of things disappearing when you open the menu, but it does create another problem - all slide layers on that particular slide will now be shown at the same time. This may or may not be an issue for you based the set up on your screen and positioning of your content. I've found that a solid background on each layer will sort this problem out as the other layers will not be visible beneath the last layer accessed.
Try it out and see if it works for you.
Hi, I am still experiencing a problem where the title on the slide disappears when the side menu is clicked, any ideas how I can fix this? I'm happy to send an example if that helps. Please can you help? Thanks
maybe this as been answered. But I can't seem to be able to mark the chapters as complete when users process throught the menus.
Does anyone know? I know it's variables but having a hard time figuring it out.
