This download uses a simple number variable (along with appropriate triggers and states) to allow learners to select an avatar which then appears throughout the course or scenario.
Hi Nicole
This is super :@) I've got a project coming up where there will be different views to portray from a number of professionals so this is good inspiration! An opportunity also for some alternative quizzing methods.

Hi Nicole, Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of doing something similar but with the character changing expression during dialogue or interactions. However, I can't think of a way of telling the 'story' which character is now the permanent choice. For instance, the way you have designed your example, any expression change will default to the male character not the female. Any thoughts anyone? The only way I see that it is possible is to have the 'choose character' page acting as a menu that then branches to the content with the chosen character. The only trouble is I'd have to copy and paste the content for each character then go through changing the character to the correct one on each slide!
Gosh that's a long post!
the alternative to a branching menu I've found so far is to have hidden states or layers for each character, showing those according to the variable of guide chosen and then changing states with an if statement to check variable too!
Hi Nicole, I am new with articulate but want to use the idea of two avatars. I am following your download file but when I have created the additonal state for my avatar this state (own state) does not appear in the list for the setting of the trigger. How can I solve this problem?
