Here's an industrial workplace safety themed template created in Storyline. It's based on a design from E-Learning Heroes community member Josh Stoner submitted for E-Learning Challenge #69.
It doesn't seem as though this is playing through the storyline player window. It seems as though it's just a web document. How did you make this happen?
Hi David. All I did was customize the player to make it essentially disappear. You can find some great how-to articles on how to do this here: https://community.articulate.com/search?only_type=article&page=1&q=customizing+the+storyline+player&utf8=%E2%9C%93
You can certainly repurpose the graphics and mimic the layout in PowerPoint, but I don't currently have a version of this design in PowerPoint. I'm happy to make it for a future download, though!
Hi Ryan. Just a quick update to let you know that I finally got around to creating a Powerpoint version of this template here: https://community.articulate.com/download/powerpoint-13-industrial-workplace-safety-themed-template
Hi Nidhi. The published output for this project is in the article link above: https://community.articulate.com/articles/from-a-medical-themed-template-to-a-workpace-safety-themed-template-in-5-steps
Hope it saves you some time!
To edit the Gearing up for safety template: "How to Use" and "Contact" links, simply select View->Slide Master. Then on the Layout "Basic_Next_Back_Interop" you should find the "howto" and "contact" layers that you can edit. When you are done editing, simply select "Close Master View".
Apologies all. I'm afraid I wasn't subscribed to this thread so I wasn't aware of your questions until just now. Thanks to @Cleober for jumping in to answer questions!
Trina
Thanks for the great template - one issue that I am having is with the completion elements of the menu on the overview page - how do I stop the change of state to completion until the user has clicked on a button on the last page rather than the first page - ie if I click menu item 1 and go back the menu changes to completed. Thanks Dave
Hi David. The state change to "completed" (the visited states for each menu option) involve a trigger and a True/False variable. In short, the trigger evaluates whether the variable associated with each menu item is true or false. This how-to article from Mike Enders walks through the use of True/False variables in detail (https://community.articulate.com/articles/how-to-use-a-true-false-variable-to-let-the-learner-change-your-storyline-course-design). I also found this discussion thread that has some nice explanations of using variables and triggers to change the state of a button to "completed" (https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/change-state-of-button-based-on-true-false-variable).
This is great, thanks Trina! I'm in the middle of re-building the design of all our H&S online mandatory training. The old design is rather plain and boring. This gave some great ideas I've used in the new template I'm building for this.
Very nice!! I would like to change the text within the text boxes without changing the triggers.
Sounds simple - but can you provide detailed directions asap!!
Thank you
Hi Gail. I presume you're trying to change the text on the 4 topic boxes with the icons on "Exploring The Gear?"If so, just click on a topic to select it, and then send the surrounding rectangle to the back (Drawing Tools > Format > Send to Back). With that rectangle in the background you should be able to click on the text fields to edit them. Hope that helps!
You're welcome, Gail. The How and Contact Information layers are both located on the slide master for each layout. Just click on View > Slide Master and then edit the How and Contact layers on each screen layout you're using.
Again, I hope that helps you out!
On last question - how or where in the timeline can I control the COMPLETED overlay? They seem to come in right when the activity is clicked rather than after. What name was given to that action in the timeline?
Thank you for your very quick response.
Gail
