Thanks Nicole for this fun game! When I tried to download it, it unfortunately would not download on Storyline 2 because it was created in an upgraded version. Is there a work around this?
Thank you,
Jasmin
Hi Lucas! Thanks for your question.
You can add a timer to a results slide, however, that will time the entire game, not each individual question. Here's a tutorial on how to do that: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/adding-result-slides-in-articulate-storyline-2 (you'll notice that its step 4).
If adding a timer to each question is a feature you'd like to see in the future, please don't hesitate to leave us a feature request: https://articulate.com/support/contact/feature-request
Hi Darrin - yes, you can absolutely increase the number of categoeries, however it would take some tweaking of the overall template because you'd need to resize all the existing catgeories to make them smaller (you can select all the shapes and do it all at once under the Format tab of the ribbon) so you create the space for an extra column. Then you could just duplicate or copy/paste an existing category and then duplicate the question slides and create the hyperlinks between them.... once you open up the file you can customize basically every component of this download. Hope this helps :)
Hey Nicole,
I copied and pasted the last category to create a 5th one, however that category is not showing up in my list of scenes. Do you have any information on how to make this visible and create the appropriate hyperlinks?
Thank you!
Hi Dan! So after you've copied and pasted one of the catergories on the main slide, to add a new one, you will then have to duplicate one of the scenes. Then, you can rename it to Category 5 and update the question title on each slide.
Thanks Nicole!
One more question - I would like students to complete all questions on the board before going to the final results, however the template is currently set to go to the results slide once they have mathematically won or lost the game. Is there a way to remove this logic? Thanks again!!
Echoing Darrin - Fantastic! I can't even imagine the hours that went into this. I created something similar in PowerPoint years ago but this is so much cooler and sleeker and to be honest more functional than my version. I can't wait to use this in a course.. or two...
Hello Nicole, Thank-you so much for this, as it is fantastic. I am having just one issue. When I add extra answer choices, they appear earlier than the ones already there. This is no doubt an obvious answer for this but I just can't seem find what it is.
Hi Neil! If you go to a question slide, and have a peek down at the Timeline panel at the bottom of your screen below the slide, you'll see the object called "Multiple Choice". It's supposed to appear at the "1Second" mark on the Timeline, but I did notice that when you add a new choice to it, the timing on the object resets it to appear at the 0second mark. So, if you can just click and drag the Multiple Choice object on the timeline, and make it appear a 1second mark, that should resolve the issue. Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Hi Nicole. Yes, thank you for all the hard work you put into this and sharing it. One question, can you either tell me how or direct me to a tutorial on adjusting the results slide so that a person only has to answer one catergory's questions and not all four? In other words, I would like to have 4 different categories for 4 different job roles and the person chooses their appropriate job category and answers the 5 questions. They would need to score say 2800 out of the 3000 or maybe need to get a perfect score.
Hi Nicole,
Thank you for the great template. Is there a way to remove the sound effects from the correct and incorrect layers?
It doesn't show the audio file in the timeline.
Hi Mishal! The reason they're not in the feedback layers is because if I had done it that way I would've had to put the audio file onto each and every layer, one by one. Instead I put the sound effect on the Feedback master. :)
To remove the sound effects, on the ribbon at the top click the View tab. Under view, click the Feedback Master button. You'll notice from the list of slides on the left side of the slide that Slide 2 and 3 are the Correct and Incorrect layers. Go into each one and delete the sound clip from the timeline. Then click Close Master View button to leave the Feedback master. Hope this helps!!
Nicole, this is really a fun game but how would you "reset" the score for someone to replay the game? I tried the "reset" option on a button that navigates to the questions but it wasn't affected....any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi Nicole,
thank you for sharing this fantastic quiz. Everybody will love it at our company :)
I just a have question, I tried to add a variable to end the quiz after achieving 50% of the points. But it didn´t work. Can you help me with that?
Thank you!
Hi Burak!
You would need to change the Results slide so that only 50% is needed to pass. Then you would need to set up a trigger on the main board game slide that says when the Points variable is = to 600 (which is half the total possible amount of points, 1200) to jump directly to the results slide. I think this should resolve the problem! If you still can't get it to work, I suggest you post a question in our Storyline discussion forums and include a link to your .story file so community members can take a closer look at exactly whats happening in the file. Thanks :) Best of luck!
Hi Nicole, thank you for your fast response.
Thats what I did, but it´s not jumping to the results.
I´ll ask in the discussion forum for help :)
Thank you
Hi Nicole, fabulous as always! We have a quick question. The template seems to dim the text in Category 1, question 200. It does it on the preview on-line as well. I was able to fix it by duplicating and renaming the 400 slide. We were wondering if you know where that's coming from? It doesn't seem to do it anyplace else. We've tried starting different categories, and it's the 200 question in cat. 1 only for sure.
Thanks!
