Dane, the phone Asif was talking about is the one on the desk. It is a bit out of scale with the register and the people. I think you are referring to the one on the right side that displays the instructions. Interesting idea since the type of phone could have a different appearance.
I will consider that as an option for people who take the course. Thanks.
Hello, Jeffrey! Thanks for sharing your work.
I downloaded the project and don't understand the purpose behind the "Play media Screen Recording Action when the user clicks" trigger on the hotspots.
What does this trigger do exactly?
Thanks for any insight!
@Jeffrey @Heather
I was a little confused about that as well. Jeffrey, if I am not mistaken, it seems as though you did a screen record of a still image that you then plastered on to the scene. Then, you use a hotspot to "play" the "media" for about a split second before letting the timeline change the scene. If you got that screen capture from another source, then I would say it's pretty efficient compared to, say, having to construct the scene in Storyline from scratch.......although that probably also explains how you got the phone and POS out of scale, ha ha ha!
Heather and Daniel,
I did not put this on my email but I am currently in Florida on vacation. I will look at this next week when I am back home and see how to resolve your issues. This was created several months ago so I need to go over it again to remind me of what I did.
Thanks for writing though because I am sure we will all learn something.
Heather and Daniel,
This is what people call a mistake! If you look at the fourth slide, the trigger is jump to the next slide. That is what the first three slides should have as well, I just did not retype the triggers. It is interesting to me that the existing trigger to Play media works as well.
As a better explanation, I first had to build the process since this is not a software simulation. I then did a screen recording from another version of Storyline going through all of the steps as a Try Me recording. Then, I made still another version where the size of the slides could accommodate the image of the cell phone to hold the instructions.
This is the version I posted but did not clean up the triggers on the first three slides.
This is a great example of what fresh eyes do... Expand

This is a great example of what fresh eyes do for a project and finding mistakes!
Finally, the phone and register are out of scale because I was in a hurry to get this done and did not pay attention to them. Another example that other developers DO pay attention to the details.
Maybe we need a challenge where we put mistakes into the project and see if other people can find them! You two should do well.
Thanks for letting me know and I will correct those slides and send that to David to repost.
I made the corrections on the three slides. I also put information on my blog with a few details on how this can be done. You can read that http://practicallearningconcepts.com/blog/process-simulation-steps. I also have the links to an updated demo and story file.
I decided it was not important to get the phone and register to scale for this. The main thing was to get how a process is done as opposed to a software simulation.
Hope that helps.
Hi Jeffrey - I updated the challenge recap to point to your new example link. I also updated your download file to the latest version you shared in the challenge comments. Thanks for a cool share.
