Looks as though the tabs are artwork. I tested it and used a text box filled with the background color (used the eyedropper) and white text. Looked good.
Hi Rick - The tabs are editable shapes created in Storyline. If you want to remove or change the medical icon, you can edit the tab's state and delete the icon from the normal state. Everything should be editable from within Storyline.
It was my intention to make this template as user-friendly and customizable as possible!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Meredith!
The tabs are fully editable! You can edit the tab text by: 1) Selecting the tab 2) Click Edit States 3) Change text for Normal state.

Much appreciated, thank you, David!

Hi Vivek! I picked up the vector doctor graphics from Shutterstock: http://shutr.bz/1MwzWIs The template includes a cropped, .jpg version of so it's neither scalable or editable. I just used them for placeholders.
Thank you for the referral to this resource.

Hi!
I would love to be able to use this template. Unfortunately I can't download it! I'm not having any issues with any other templates but this one.
Kelsey
I cannot download it either. Normally when I download a template, I hit "download" and then save it wherever I want. This time I get the "How do you want to open this file? Look for an app in the Store" and then I have a box that says "Always us this app to open storytemplate files" and it is checked but I can't hit "OK" since the "OK" is disabled. This is a fabulous template, hoping to figure out my glitch.
Hi Montse,
I love your design, could you tell me how I can change the background image. I tried in the slide master but to no avail? Thanks very much. JK
Hi Joe!
You will need to edit the Slide Master. To access the master, click your View tab > Slide Master. You’ll see the slide layouts with the background image. You can delete or swap them out from there.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions. I’m happy to help!
Hi Montse i have tried downloading these template severally but it comes in an unrecognisable format which unfortunately isn't articulate storyline 2. Any tips?
HI! I was just introduced to your products today and am so thrilled! I downloaded the Storyline 2: Medical-Theme Course Starter Template but I don't know how to open the file on my Mac. Do I need additional software?
Hi Wendy,
This template was designed with Articulate Storyline. Storyline is a Windows-only software program, but you can run it on a Mac using Parallels or VM Ware.
I run Storyline on my iMac and it works amazingly well. Here’s an article on how to set up and run Storyline on a Mac w/ Parallels: https://community.articulate.com/articles/articulate-storyline-for-mac
This is great, however I am unable to download the template. I get the following error message:
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open the storytemplate because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.
Any insights?
Hi Shannon,
I’ve seen this error message before. It’s usually due to the browser. Can you try right-clicking the download button and choosing Save Link As… from the drop down menu? That should enable you to grab the file.
If that doesn’t work, I can post a link to a zipped version of the file.
Thank you for the speedy response - I tried the save as and it did the same. I also tried another browser, to no avail.
If you have time to post a zipped version, I would be so appreciative. Have a great day.
Hi Shannon,
Here’s a direct link to the .zip version: http://elearningdesigner.com/storyline/medical-starter/MedicalCourseStarter-MontseAnderson.zip
I hope this helps! If you still can’t open, let me know and we’ll get this worked out.
Hi Montse,
Can Articulate storyline 2 templates work with version 1? I am new to storyline and am not sure. I cant seem to open this download in articulate. Thanks so much!
Hi Montse,
again I love your design, thanks very much. One query, when I publish to word the slide layers overlap the base layer and I can't see all the content, do you know any way around this? Thanks again. Joe
Hi Montse, this is great and really helpful for us, is it OK if you can send me the storyline file? I downloaded it and am wasn't able to open it. Thanks
I had that problem as well and was still unable to open the zipped file that she posted above, but maybe that will work for you. It is above in Shannon Trine's comment.
Hi Kelly!
If you right click the download button above, you can select Save Link As... and then append ".storytemplate" to the file. I'll see if someone from Articulate can save my file as a .zip to make it easier.
This project was created as a .storytemplate file. Here's where you can learn more about the template files: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/working-with-templates#importing
If you're still having trouble opening the file, please feel free to contact me via my profile page and I will email you a zip version.
Say's advice below helped me. Since it's a template file, you'll need to open through SL2 versus just clicking on the file. Remember to extract the zipped file before trying to open it.
@Kelly, I just downloaded the file, opened Storyline 2, browsed for the file in my downloads folder and selected it. It opened for me. If you are doing these steps and it still does not download, trash the downloaded file and try again with a fresh download.
Hope this helps,
Say
