This custom UI template built with Storyline 360 is perfect for all your corporate e-learning needs. The sleek design and easy-to-navigate interface is sure to please designers and learners alike. Swap out the background image and and adapt the color scheme to make this template your own in a matter of minutes.
Thank you Allison! This is a great template. Just a quick question - how do you customize the rectangles titled "chapter 1, "chapter 2," etc? When I try to edit text, I am unable to do so, and I end up adding in my own text which is written upside down. Any trick to this? Thank you in advance!
Hi Anna! Glad you like the template. The text you're referring to is in the Normal layer, so to edit it you need to open the states window (see screenshot: http://d.pr/i/17500/4yHTttQ5 )
I wrote this article a couple weeks ago where I explain why this technique is useful, if you want to check it out: https://community.articulate.com/articles/the-ultimate-guide-to-buttons-in-storyline-2
Thank you Allison!
I was able to change the titles of the buttons with your help - thanks so much!
Still trying to get super comfortable with Storyline and states is one thing I haven't played around with yet. The article was also a great resource, so hopefully I'll feel comfortable using them soon.
Thanks again!
Hi Kim! If you are viewing the course locally, that is normal. In order for the exit course button to work you'll need to upload it to a web server or LMS. See this page for more details: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/exit-course-trigger-doesnt-work-sl2
Very nice template, Allison! Thanks for sharing it! I used it to build a demo for JavaScript functions within Storyline. I paid a "subtle tribute" to you on the cover. http://bit.ly/1IjNEKs
Thank you, Alison! I've been using this template for all my courses! Excellent if, like my company, you want mobile friendly classes. Those big boxes are very easy to click on when using an iPad :)
Hi, Allison!
I was wondering if you have any tips on how to build quizzes with this template. I have been having issues with certain quiz question formats functioning properly, and no matter what I do, when I include a "Review Quiz" option for users, the Storyline "previous" and "next" buttons will ALWAYS appear on the review layer. I am building our courses mobile first, and the "previous" and "next" buttons are comically small on the iPad.
I love this template otherwise! Very clickable.
Thank you!
-Rachel
P.S. I did also post this in a separate discussion thread, but also wanted to post it here to see if users who have been using this template have been having similar issues.
Hi Rachel! The fact that Prev/Next buttons appear during the Quiz Review is actually not specific to this template, it's just how that feature works. (see this link: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/prev-and-next-buttons-show-during-quiz-review). As stated in that bottom of that page, feel free to submit a feature request if you feel that this option should be available.
When doing a search on the community, I found this thread which proproses 2 possible workarounds (see original poster and first comment): https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/fix-for-unable-to-hide-prev-and-next-button-on-quiz-review-html5
Hopefully one of those solutions will work for you! :)
Allison:
I want to use a similar format for a project I'm working on. How do you get the published version to display so large? I've deleted Notes, Menu, etc. and set the player to Display at user's current browser & Lock player at optimal size. The project was created in Articulate Storyline 2, not Power Point. I have found comments on how to increase the size in Power Point but not Articulate. Any help would be appreciated.
HI Beverly,
You can change the size of your Storyline presentation via the Story Size button in the View tab. See this screenshot for the size I used: http://d.pr/i/10F6H/3G97moPs
Note that it's always best to change the size of your project in the beginning because if you change it later on, Storyline will want to stretch your images and objects to fit.
You're welcome! :) Happy to to help.
As a side note, I thought I'd point out that when you reply directly from your e-mail client, your signature is appended to your post. You may want to hop in there and edit out any personal information you don't want to share with the community.
We love this template. But we're having trouble changing the font size. It appears that sometimes the font is 96 point...but it appears smaller than in body text below it. I'm unable to change the font. Thanks for a tip!
Cindy
Hi Cindy! Sorry to hear you're having issues with this template. From what you're saying, it sounds like the problem may be coming from the text box settings. Just right click on the text box, then select Format Shape (see screenshot: http://drops.articulate.com/Bf3J/5utAYPbi ). Then click on the Text Box tab and change the settings from "Shrink text on overflow" to "Resize shape to fit text" (see screenshot: http://drops.articulate.com/1eAzX/5e5SMIg9 ) Let me know if that doesn't fix the issue you're seeing!
Thank you Allison for the excellent template. I am using storyline for the 1st time for my project. I am seeing the prev/next button on the main menu slide and few other slides. I do not need these buttons, unfortunately I am unable to figure out how to remove them. I do see the Player triggers which I can delete but that is not solving my problem. I have my submission due in a week, will appreciate any help.
You're welcome! To delete the previous and next buttons just click on the slide properties gear (on the lower right-hand side of the right-hand panel) and uncheck the boxes. See the Choosing Navigation Controls section of this article for more help: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/adjusting-slide-properties/
Thanks a ton for the help. One more question, I am using the Player submit button for my hotspot slides, everytime the user clicks on the wrong spot and click on submit, after the incorrect feedback shows up, the cursor is still stuck and the user is unable to select other areas in the screen. Can you lease let me know if I am doing anything wrong?
Appreciate any help/suggestion.
Thanks
Anu
Hi Anindita! It sounds like you want to give them more than one chance to get the right answer, is that correct? If so, you'll need to change the number of attempts. Here's a link to a page that explains how to do that: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/choosing-the-number-of-attempts-for-graded-questions-in-articulate-storyline-2
