This is where I want to get to in regard to working with our SMEs at the Colorado Community College's Online. My question for you is how do you focus your SMEs to get to this level of content specificity? We are currently working on updating our processes, but not sure how they will pan out right away.

In this case, when I started working with the faculty member, she had this information as a recorded lecture that she wanted to put online for students to watch. It was over 45 minutes long! I used a transcript of the recorded lecture to create this piece.
For other faculty, creating these pieces has worked much differently. But in every case, we are working with them at a macro level to do course design. As a part of that, we help determine which information would work well face-to-face, online, in a video, or as part of an interactive module. Then we are asking them to provide some kind of script or PPT with notes on a particular topic. If you want to chat more about the process, feel free to send me an email.
