This incredibly cool and fun adventure game is the perfect demo of the interactive goodness you can create with Storyline 2. You'll meet engaging characters, solve problems, and learn lots of useful tidbits about Storyline 2 along the way.
UPDATE: Although Flash has been decommissioned, you CAN STILL PLAY this as a Storyline executable. Go to the Main Thread at Articulate here and download the attachment: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/building-better-courses/heroland-an-adventure-within-storyline-and-only-storyline
HINTS: * 1. Drag the star at the Crow. Don't just click it.
2. Get some water for the flower.
3. Examine the pattern at the flower, and look at where the hand pointer is at.
4. There are 4 levels, so jot down the code at the end of each level in order to jump back to the level later if you need to.
*** This took 500+ hours to build. The original code has at least a hundred layers(if not more) and hundreds(thousands?) of objects and triggers. Watch the ebits for tips. Thanks All.
Nice work! Worked seamlessly for me. The hints seemed like just enough information to solve each stage. One of my favorite interactions was the Simon-like pattern the flower produced and having to replicate it. I tried to sub the mouse clicking for the directional arrows on the number pad...that would be the only improvement I can think of to incorporate. From start to finish how long did it take you to create?
Great job Richard! Definitely enjoyed finding two of the "e-learning" tips to access. Would love to learn more. Couldn't see how to solve the rest of the game but, I like the concept and skill it took to create.
Wow! Just...wow. I played through the whole thing and viewed all your in-game ebits. Incredible! I'm absolutely chartreuse with envy at your skills.
I must echo Bongani and plead for you to put up a few video demos (longer than the ebits) on how to do the motion paths with the variables and embedded states, and the music loop (I'd love more info on that one for a current project).
I don't want to spoil the fun of the game, but once you get the watering can, take it to the lake to fill it with water and then water the flower. Pay attention to the sequence of how the petals flash and then replicate that movement with the navigation arrows. You're on your own from there!
Excellent job! Thanks for all the work and the ebits. I made it all the way through, and I'm generally not that good at these things. Excellent demo of capabilities.
Love it! I´m just trying to make something similar but this is just awesome!!! could you please explain how did you make the character moves? is like a parallax effect? I get the idea but your guidance would be so much more useful!
Thanks and amazing job!
