Brandon- please... if there is any way you can share the template, it'd be great. I have an immediate application for my work that this would just ace.
Hi everyone! So sorry for the delay! I've been super busy and I wanted to get in there and add some conditions so that the dates don't continuously scroll forever. Now when you press the arrows, once it gets to the final date, it stops scrolling. Likewise for if you scroll back to the first entry.
FYI: I used the google font "Lato" just in case you want to download the fonts before using the template.

Hello everyone, I find this timeline slider amazing. However, I'm struggling to extend it to accommodate more dates. Has anyone attempted this? If so, can you help me out? I need this for the project I am currently working on. Thanks.
Hi, Kayode! I'm thinking back to when I made this and trying to figure out an easy way to add more dates. It's going to take a lot of planning and paying attention to the triggers that are already there.
The group of dates are animated along a motion path and have a relative starting point. That means the group will move along that motion path based on wherever it currently is located (as opposed to jumping back to it's original starting point and animating again from there). You'll need to ungroup the group of dates, duplicate the items on the timeline to create the necessary number of dates you need and space them the same distance apart as the other dates (so the motion path moves them the same distance as all the other dates). Like I said, kind of complicated.
You'll then regroup... Expand

You'll then regroup all the dates and apply the motion path triggers that were originally there. I also added some conditions to stop the dates from moving when they get to the final date. You'll need to adjust those. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to sit down and help set this up for you. Perhaps someone else on the forum can give this a try?
Best of luck!
This is so cool!! It's gonna be fun and try to recreate this from scratch by following your post here and your downloadable sample. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Thanks Brandon, Since you said that this is complicated and my time is limited on this project, I have decided to use the slider twice. However, I want to make the next button which I added to be inactive until the learner has scrolled through the five timelines. Can you please suggest how I do this? Thanks
Hi Brandon, thank you for sharing this awesome template. I also wanted to share and simple way to add more dates to the timeline. 1. Highlight the currently group and duplicate ( you can go in later and remove the dates you don't want) 2. Once duplicated you now have two groups. You can now groups these two so you now have one larger group 3. Highlight only the first original group using the timeline . 4. Click on Animation painter while the original group is highlighted. 5. Using the timeline highlight the full new group to apply the Animation . 6. Edit the old trigger to move the new group along the timeline you just applied using Animation painter. Done, hope this helps.
Like many others, I think this is an elegant solution! However, I'm having some trouble. When I try to edit the existing trigger to animate based on new motion paths--there are now 3, because I created 2 duplicates of the original group--there are no existing motion paths anymore.
The motion paths appear on the slide, but not in the dropdown for triggering. Any ideas?
Hey Matt, I am actually having the exact same problem as you are with the motion paths not being in the drop down box. Were you able to figure this out by chance?
Well, sort of. I was also trying to add additional dates. So working on multiple issues. The thing with the motion paths not being available had to do with expected behavior when copying or modifying certain objects. So we had to re-create some triggers, variables, and motion paths from scratch. When I say "we" I mostly mean that eventually it was tech. support that figured it out :)
