Next Steps
Now that you know how audio and video work in Storyline 360, it’s time to put those skills into practice. Here are some suggested activities to help you get started:
Audio Activities
- Audio Practice 01: Practice inserting external audio from your hard drive by inserting the “Preparing for the Review.mp3” file from your practice files.
- Audio Practice 02: Record the audio on slide 3.1 using Storyline’s built-in audio recorder.
- Audio Practice 03: Edit the audio on slide 4.1 First, delete the opening sentence “Welcome to Preparing for the Review!” Next, reduce the volume for the first breath and silence the second breath. Preview the audio file. Which method of reducing breaths do you prefer? Click Save & Close to exit the audio editor.
- Audio Practice 04: Insert the “Preparing for the Review.mp3” audio file from Media Library. Assign triggers to each button to control when the media plays, pauses, and stops.
- Audio Practice 05: Play the audio (press Spacebar or click the play button) and add cue points (press C) after each sentence. Align each of the chat boxes and next button to the cue points by dragging their start and end frames in the timeline. Apply the fade entrance and exit animations to the objects.
Video Activities
- Video Practice 1: Adding Videos. Create a new Storyline project and create three slides. On the first slide, insert a video from your local hard drive. On the second slide, find a video you like in Content Library and add it to your slide. And on your third slide, record a webcam video and insert it. Preview your project. Save your work.
- Video Practice 2: Controlling Video Playback. Open the project you created for Video Practice 1. On slide 1, change the video playback from Automatically to When clicked. Preview the slide. Save your work.
- Video Practice 3: Creating Custom Video Controls. Open the project you worked on in Video Practice 1 and Video Practice 2. Go to Slide 2 and change the video playback options from Automatically to When triggered. Create three buttons your slide and label them, Play, Pause, and Stop. Assign the appropriate triggers for each button to play, pause, and stop the video.
