Updating the Placeholder Pictures

In this lesson, we're going to continue updating the persistent elements in our slides. The content images change for each slide, but the label, intro car and info icon are consistent design elements in the course.

There are three key graphics in each slide:

The most efficient way to update the three graphics over 17 slides will depend on how you set up your course assets.

For example, if all course assets are broken out by slide number, it would be easier to update the three images on each slide. If you separated some images - icons, labels, cars - from content images, it might make better sense to make multiple passes over your slides.

If you're following along, I'm working inĀ Lesson Files > Chapter_05 > ChangingPics_Start.pptx and ChangingPics_Final.pptx.

Chapter Label

Slide 1 has the correct slide label, so you would begin with Slide 2.

  1. Select Slide 2 and right-click the slide label graphic
  2. Choose Change Picture... from the menu
  3. Select the image you want to use
  4. Click OK
  5. Repeat for the remaining slides

Intro Car & DYK Icon

The process is the same for the car and warning graphics.

  1. Right-click either the car or DYK image
  2. Choose Change Picture... from the menu
  3. Select the image you want to use
  4. Click OK
  5. Repeat for the remaining slides.
