We’re happy to announce a new feature that’ll make creating gorgeous courses in Rise 360 even faster and easier: in-app image cropping. Whether you’re using an image from Content Library 360 or uploading your own, now you can crop your images directly in Rise 360. Thanks to this time-saving feature, you’ll have more control over how your images look in your Rise 360 courses. Let’s take a look at a few situations where this feature will come in handy.

Change the Aspect Ratio

Have you ever spotted a Content Library 360 photo you liked but wished it were in landscape format instead of portrait? With the in-app cropping feature, you can easily change the aspect ratio of your images directly in Rise 360. Check out the GIF below to see how that works.

Crop Out Part of an Image

The image cropping tool is also great for times when an image has extraneous items you don’t want to highlight, like in the example pictured below.

We even save the uncropped version of your images in Rise 360, just in case you want to revert to the original.

Change the Focus of an Image

When you upload an image—whether it’s from Content Library 360 or from your computer—Rise 360 automatically chooses the focal point. Most of the time, this works out well. But sometimes it’s nice to be able to adjust it yourself. For example, if you’re inserting a photograph of a person like in the GIF below, you might want that person’s face to be centered in the frame.

With the new image cropping feature, changing the focus of the image only takes a few seconds. There’s even an option to maintain a 1:1 image ratio, making it super-easy.

These are just a few examples of situations where image cropping will save you time and give you more control over the visual design of your Rise 360 courses.
