Articulate Engage lets you customize the default text used in messages and controls on your interaction's player. You can even switch your player's text labels to a completely different language.
To customize your player's text labels, click the first tab on the Engage ribbon (its name corresponds to the type of interaction you're using), and then click Player.
When the Player Properties window appears, click Text Labels.
From here, you can customize individual text labels, switch all labels on your player to a different language, or switch to a previously saved set of text labels.
Customizing Individual Text Labels on Your Player
On the left side of the window, Engage displays a list of all the text labels you can edit. If you want to change text for any item, just type it in the Custom Text column.

Saving Custom Text Labels
If you click OK after changing text labels, the changes become part of the current interaction's player. To make these same text labels available for use in other interactions, do this:
- From the Text Labels section of the Player Properties window, click the Save button to the right of the Language drop-down.
- Choose a name for your new set of text labels and click Save.
This saves your text labels in Engage's default location, but you can choose a different location if you need to share them with a colleague or copy them to a different computer. However, if you choose a location other than the default, the saved text labels won't appear in the Language drop-down for other interactions you build. You'll need to use the Load button (the folder icon to the right of the Language drop-down) to find and reuse labels in another interaction.
Switching to a Different Language
To switch to a completely different language or a customized set of text labels you previously saved, choose a set of text labels from the Language drop-down. Engage provides several language options in the Built-In section of the list; the Custom section of the list contains text labels you've created and saved.
If you're not seeing custom text labels you previously saved, you may have saved it in a location other than the default. Click the Load button (the folder icon to the right of the Language drop-down) to find it.
Saving Your Changes to the Player
If you click OK on the Player Properties window and then save your interaction, Engage saves your player customizations within your interaction file. We recommend saving your player separately, so you can easily apply your player customizations to other interactions.
To save your player, click the Current Player button on the Player Properties window and choose Save. Enter a name for the player if you're prompted, and click OK.
