In Presenter ‘09, there might be times when the only controls you want to make available to your users are Play and Pause. There’s an easy way to do this. It involves using the Slide Only view mode in your presentation, and changing a few options on your player template. When you do this, the only controls visible will be a play/pause button in the lower-right corner of your player, as shown in the screencast above. Here’s how to set that up:

  1. From the Articulate menu, select Player Templates.
  2. Click the Layout tab.
  3. In the View Modes area, unmark all view modes except for Slide Only View.
  4. If you previously added a Slide Notes button to the bottom of your player {insert link}, when you publish your presentation a notes icon will appear just below your play/pause button in the corner of your player, like this:
Since this button is the only way learners can access your slide notes when they’re in Slide Only view, you’ll probably want to leave the button there. However, if you change your mind and want to remove it, you can do it like this:
    • With your Player Templates window still open, click the Player Controls tab.
    • Unmark the box next to Show slide notes button at bottom.
  5. Now click Close and, when prompted, save the changes you made to your player template.
