In Quizmaker ‘09, you can easily add a lot of life to your quiz or survey by inserting a movie. You can enhance your quiz with video via either of Quizmaker's two question-editing interfaces: Form View or Slide View. Here we’ll walk through both ways.

Adding a Movie via Form View

  1. Open your quiz or survey in Quizmaker.
  2. Open a question by double-clicking on it.
  3. Choose the Media button, and then select Flash Movie.
  4. Navigate to the video you want to include, select it, and click Open.
  5. Choose the properties for your movie:
    • Mark Display in Slide if you want the movie to be playable right on your question slide.
    • Mark Display in New Browser Window to have Quizmaker insert only a clickable thumbnail of your movie on the question slide. Users will need to click the thumbnail to play the movie, and it'll launch in its own window. (If you choose this option, a Browser Control menu will appear at the bottom of the window, and you'll need to specify your preferred browser control settings there.)
    • Mark Movie starts playing automatically if you want the video to begin as soon as users arrive on the slide.
    • Mark Show movie controls if you want a playbar (which includes a seekbar and a pause/play button) to appear along with your video.
    • Click the speaker icon if you'd like to adjust the relative volume of your movie.
  6. Click OK.

Quizmaker will add a thumbnail of the movie to the question editor. It appears to the right of your question text.

That's it! You can click the Preview button to see how the movie will look on your slide. If you want to fine-tune the location or size of the video, or if you want to add multiple videos to your slide, you can switch to Slide View and make changes to your slide there.

Adding a Movie via Slide View

Another way to add a movie to your quiz is by using the Slide View of your question editor. This gives you a lot more control over the movie's size and placement, and it even allows you to add multiple videos to your slide if you like.

  1. In Quizmaker, open a question by double-clicking on it.
  2. Click Slide View.
  3. Click the Insert tab, and choose Flash Movie.
  6. Click OK.

Once the movie is on your slide, you can move or resize it as you like. You can also select the movie and choose the Options tab on the toolbar — there, you'll find options which allow you to preview the movie or adjust any of the options you originally chose when you inserted it.
