SlideShare Your E-Learning Challenges #120

SlideShare Presentations  #120: Challenge | Recap

Why Should Course Designers Share Their Work on SlideShare?

I was chatting with a community member this past week about freelancing. She mentioned that she lands more contract work from LinkedIn than any other community. She participates in e-learning and instructional design groups and shares her examples in the main feed.

We started talking about SlideShare as another way to show and share professional work while targeting the right audience. We brainstormed ideas on ways course designers could promote their work using simple presentations on SlideShare. And that’s what this week’s challenge is all about!

SlideShare Examples from Community Members

A quick search for “e-learning” returned some awesome SlideShares from community members. Check out the following examples for ideas for creating your own presentations.

Building Your E-Learning Portfolio

You don’t have to create something new for SlideShare. If you’ve ever given a presentation that included slides (who hasn’t?), then you can use the slides you have already built.

Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to share an e-learning-related presentation, infographic, or video on SlideShare. This is a good opportunity to show your work and potentially reach a much larger audience.

If you’re connected with one or more challenge users, please share their examples over the next week. I will share everyone’s work, but if each of you shares one or more examples, everyone will get more exposure.

Ideas for your SlideShare Presentation:

  • E-Learning Challenge Portfolio: Showcase your Top 10 or favorite challenge examples. Include details about the project and links to your published examples.
  • About Me: Introduce yourself to the e-learning community by sharing some basic details on your work experience, education, social media contacts, and anything else you’d like to share.
  • Tutorial, or How-To: Help others learn a trick in Storyline, WordPress, or another program you work in daily.
  • Course Deconstruction: Walk users through how you built a specific course or project.
  • Conference Session: Share a recent conference presentation you gave or create a presentation for a conference session you’d like to give.
  • Freelance Tips: There’s never been a better time to be an e-learning designer. Share your best tips and advice for freelancing and starting up an e-learning company.
  • Getting Into E-Learning: Share your favorite tips or advice for people just getting started in the e-learning industry.

Resources
