I finally got around to rebuilding my portfolio from the ground up. For the longest time, I had everything sitting in Articulate Rise. It looked fine, but after a while, I found it restrictive. It was great for quickly adding new work samples, but I wanted better layout and functionality. I tried Wix for a bit, but that didn’t really solve the backend limitations either. Eventually, I decided to take a different approach and vibe code the design in Base44. I'm still building out content, but after iterating for a couple of days, I was able to get pretty much everything I wanted, both on the front-end and under the hood, including a database. I had Base44 create a hidden admin function, so I can now update my work on the fly and even use an AI assistant in the backend to help generate course summaries and screenshot blurbs whenever I add a new artifact and not have to rely on Base44. The database has also been really helpful for organizing client work, and I’m experimenting with creating sub-portals so clients can view their projects directly. I'm still working on the Behind the Build stories. I've never been one for going deep into my process, but I figure maybe it's time to start being more reflective. I also built out a "Cool Tools" section, which I set up as a collection of ID apps and utilities prospective clients (or ID lurkers) can try out. If anyone has any ideas for other helpful ID apps, let me know! Link to Portfolio91Views4likes1CommentJonathan's Challenge Demo Storage Yard
Hello! It's once again time to Share Your Portfolios for the #ELearningChallenge. But, once again, I haven't got round to updating my website. It's quicker to build a showcase in Storyline, frankly... This 'interactive portfolio' collects my last five demos, and can be viewed here: Jonathan's Challenge Demo Storage Yard | EngageBrainTrain.com
