About
Annette Downing
When I started with overstock.com. in 2008, I was involved with the newly hired employees and also the current employees in customer service training.I started creating Computer Based Trainings, PowerPoint’s, and Interactive Games to aid customer care agents in staying current with Overstock.com’s policies and procedures. I became the instructional Design Team Lead for Customer Care in 2009 and I was the Instructional Designer for Talent Management until October 2011, and now am an instructional designer at Zionsbancorp. I have 2 certificates in instructional design and training, an Associate's Degree and currently completing my bachelors in business at the U of U. I have completed a workshop on voice over lessons to continue in my pursuit of creating engaging online courses. The summer of 2006 I had the opportunity to work for Reach the Children in Kenya, Africa. Reach the Children is a non- profit organization that facilitates self-reliance in communities dedicated to the well-being of underprivileged children. They do this, by mentor ship through Community Empowerment Initiatives in education and enterprise. While on this tour I was exposed to their language so much, that I was able to speak and comprehend Swahili (or Kiswahili) by the time I returned home. I also got the opportunity to successfully climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the summer of 2007 I was a member of International Student Volunteers and did agricultural work on a project called “Trees for Travelers.” in New Zealand while studying at the University of Utah. -
