Richard Gardner
Rick is currently employed by Oregon Vocational Rehabilitation as the agency Training Coordinator. Rick came to VR from previous positions with the Oregon Department of Revenue, Department of Administrative Services in the Budget and Management Division as Performance Management Coordinator. Previously, Rick was employed by the Oregon Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training (DPSST) as Senior Research Analyst. Before joining Oregon state government, for two decades, Rick managed his own consulting firm (Pragmatics, Inc.), serving a wide range of national clients. Rick has been keynote and featured presenter numerous regional and national events, including the Oregon, Idaho and Alaska’s Governor’s Safety Conference. A career adult educator, Rick has served as Training Coordinator, Training Manager, and Director of Education for both public and private sector organizations. He also served as a Senior HRD manager for Intel. Rick first designed a Performance Management system in 1975, and in the 30 years following, has researched, consulted, constructed, evaluated and written about virtually every aspect of Performance Management and Organizational Change in Traditional Organizations. Rick’s educational background includes undergraduate degrees in Communication and psychology, and graduate degrees in Education and Organizational Development. -
