Jo-El’s latest venture grew from her roots in training design and her recent experience building an online program from a mess of content locked in an abandoned LMS. From this and watching learning trends for years, she came up with a model for elearning/mlearning that has morphed into: C Squared M. Content. Collaborate. Mentor
She thought: "Why not take what is the best about teaching—all the way back to Socrates—and tubocharge it with online or distance learning delivery?" The web is mature, the tools are here and the tablet wave is getting ready to crest. She has always been passionate about making learning engaging. Now it’s also possible to make it ubiquitous. And profitable--as the colleges are discovering.
Jo-El has managed teams at Fortune 50 companies, developed training for over 300 initiatives, built budgets for multi-million dollar projects with hundreds of tasks, and hired & fired vendors and staff.
Her career began using the ADDIE model of ISD--analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate--for classroom and web-based training including student/instructor guides, quizzes, and 360 evaluations.
Then she left the training world and managed IT projects-- implementing Sharepoint for collaboration to a 50 person IT group; Salesforce to 1000 brokers for contact management; and document management systems that handled everything from golf club designs to medical devices to millions of pages of aircraft maintenance data.
Her Master’s degree work involved the psychology of how people process visual information. Her thesis was on the appeal of comic book characters--which grew out of a passion from her undergraduate degree in graphic design.
Jo-El has written white papers, over 40 winning proposals and grants; illustrated documents; and most recently helped over 350 people develop business plans with financials and market research. She is now creating online courses for people to sell, and designing infographics.
