A bug has been identified in Flash Player 19.0.0.185 that corrupts PowerPoint presentations with videos and Flash objects. Until Adobe releases an update to fix it, we recommend staying with Flash Player 18. If you've already installed Flash Player 19.0.0.185, here's how you can downgrade to version 18.
Adobe notes it as fixed here but if a file had become corrupted, the fix in that set up won't fix the corruption, you'll still need to go through the steps here.
Ashley - we have been attempting to add two brief videos to an articulate course and the videos will not play in the "preview' or play when the course is published. we have followed the instructions detailed in the link above ('how to add video') but it is still not working. Any troubleshooting recommendations?
Since you posted in this thread- I'm curious if you already went through the steps I last mentioned in terms of the Flash 19 update and the corruption that could occur within the Presenter files.
What types of video files are you adding? What occurs when you try to play the videos in your course?
I just noticed that today when I (inadvertently) reinstalled Flash that the current version is 20. Doesn't anyone know if the corruption problem is still in Version 20? I am going to deinstall and try to get back to 18 now.
Adobe and Microsoft have fixed the Flash Player bug that broke many applications just before the new year, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Studio.
The powerpoint repair tool isn't working. I am running flash version 22 and trying to open a presentation from last year, normally I'd drop it into the powerpoint repair took that I got when this whole flash version 19 bug came up. But now, it will "fix" it but not let me save it.
Hi Jim! That looks like an actual Powerpoint error, not a Presenter error. Have you attempted to uninstall/install your Office software? I'm not sure that a repair of Presenter will assist.
These are the same error messages I encountered last year when this bug first came out. I would rather not uninstall office due to unintended consequences -- office has been stable for me for a while and I'm leaving for an international trip in two days where I have to work on this stuff on the road. All my other content, upgrade by your repair tool last year, when the bug was first discovered, work fine. This one, that wasn't "fixed" by the tool last year is presenting this problem.
I'm sorry to hear you're still having difficulties, and since you've previously had issues with it, I would advise working with our Support engineers so that they're able to figure out more information about what is happening on your system.

Was this issue ever fixed on Adobe's end?
Hi Baden,
Adobe notes it as fixed here but if a file had become corrupted, the fix in that set up won't fix the corruption, you'll still need to go through the steps here.
Thank you for the update.

Here's how to install the latest Adobe/Microsoft update so you can preview your e-learning projects, edit videos, and launch CD-published courses again.
