Replay screen recording issue with mouse arrow

Replay screen recording issue with mouse arrow.

During my recording, my mouse click was accurately pointing at the right place however, the recording seem to have the mouse arrow showing it pointing at a different location from what I have recorded.

I have clicked very slowly so, I am not sure why the mouse arrow is out of place.

  • Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you're experiencing! We've seen this issue come up before, and there are two possible reasons:

    1. The display settings on your computer are not set to 100% or 96 DPI.
    2. An extra monitor is causing issues during screen-recording.

If neither of these is the culprit, connect with our support engineers and they can help you troubleshoot why this is happening!

  • Ren, what do mean by issue #2?  I am trying to figure out the settings I need to be able to capture the mouse in the right place and NOT have a giant black box around my recording.  Do I need to unplug my second monitor as well?  What are the correct resolution settings, other than the 100%?

      Hi Beth!

Thanks for following up, and I'm sorry to hear you see this unwanted behavior.

The behavior you describe where there's a black box around the recording sounds similar to an issue our team is looking into, but I'd like one of our support engineers to confirm.  Would you be willing to share the .replay file with us for testing?

We'd love to explore your setup to offer tailored guidance. If you're able to share the project, please use this private upload link!

  • I'm sorry, I tried to upload it but my company does not allow upload to sites using Amazon S3 (I think that's what the message said).
