Emphasis Animation

Hi, Terry -- My apologies, but we don't announce product roadmaps for new products/features or updates. You are welcome to share your thoughts on features you'd like to see by submitting a feature request here as those go directly to our product development team.

7 years later and nothing on this. Just an increase in membership fee for Articulate. 

I completely agree. BTW, I entered a feature request just now with this text:

When Storyline first came out, the animations it had available was on par with MS PowerPoint at the time. But years later, PPT has progressed and come out with numerous more animations plus the ability to do emphasis animations. The Storyline animations toolbox is still extremely limited and consists only of Entrance and Exit animations, not emphasis animations. As a result, people are using other tools, even MS PowerPoint (which can export as video), to produce the kind of narrative results that we need today in our output, projects where years ago we would have used Storyline. For Storyline to continue to be used for dynamic narrative slide-based content, we really need those emphasis animations. Additional animations would also help.

The more people who add their comments to this thread and/or make that feature request, the more likely it is that this feature might be implemented.

I agree. It can't be that difficult to add these things.

Especially considering how much we pay on an annual basis for multiple licenses.

I have been looking for workarounds for the lack of emphasis animations in Articulate. I haven't had any success so far and I really need them for my slides. 

Adobe Captivate has emphasis animations but Storyline doesn't??? In 2023??? Come on!

To create these effects, I've layered duplicates with different animations applied to them. One of them is the actual object that remains on screen, with its accessibility left on; but the others are only on the timeline long enough to run a start or end animation to create the empahsis I want.

I agree. This is some basics level stuff. But in my recent experience with teir Reach360 platform as well, they seem not to include a lot of very basic and what I would consider common features in other eLearning tools.

Just picked up this thread as I noticed this has been recently published in the Storyline 360 page

I do wish Articulate would indicate when these changes are expeceted to come in though. Anyone able to shed any light?

I wish I knew Martin. Articulate seems to be busy pushing the low-hanging fruit authoring tool that is Rise. This is really poor form from them.

I'd check back in in ten years.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

I've tried to add these animations to a few projects, but when I preview the slide, I cannot see the emphasis. How do I know if it actually works? I have the latest version of SL 360. Thanks!

Nevermind! I figured it out. DUH. I didn't edit the trigger so it was waiting for a click. It works now (when the timeline starts). Thanks!
