Trouble with JavaScript print and email
Sep 20, 2016
Hi -
I have created multiple text fields throughout a module so that learners can enter thoughts at each section of the content. All the text fields feed to a single slide where the user can print or email their notes.
I have used these scripts without fail in other courses, but can't seem to get them to work here. The text flows over correctly to the designated text fields, but the java scripts do not work. Can't get either button triggers to fire at all.
Attached is the email and print script I'm using, as well as a shot of the landing page with the text fields and trigger icons.
Please help!

You're more likely to get support from the community here if you shared your .story file. The javascript - especially the email code - requires the user have an email client installed. First step would be verifying the javascript isn't throwing a static code error
Hi S Deal,
You may also want to begin by checking out the information here in terms of the Javascript best practices.
Thanks -
I was able to figure out the scripting issue last night :)
Hi S! JavaScript is not something that I can support, but hopefully your fellow community members will be able to chime in and assist. I agree with Brian, sharing what you're working with will assist as we have some experts that can probably spot a syntax problem immediately.
Ah, awesome S - glad you were able to figure it out!
What did the problem end up being? I've been using javascript print/email buttons and have been running into trouble lately as well. When I tested published for web versions they seemed to work but not the published for LMS.
Hi Coniqua!
I cannot speak for S, but you are welcome to reach out to the user directly if you do not hear back soon. Simply utilize the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile to contact them directly.
thanks!
