Right now, there isn’t a way to choose a custom video thumbnail in Rise. You can tell us more about how this feature would improve your experience by logging a feature request.
Hi Rise Team - So this was 3 years ago. Has there been an update to this by chance? Very hard (and awkward!) that we can't seem to customize a thumbnail on any video here.
Hi there, Mirka. The Next Big Idea Club and other real content videos have a few frames in the beginning with the title screen. The poster image is actually a part of the video itself rather.
I don't have an update on adding a poster frame yet, and a lot of folks use this workaround, editing to add a few frames to the beginning of their video for a title screen.
Hmm that's not actually the case with the courses from The Next Big Idea, they have a separate preview image for each video.
I checked them out and the preview is not embedded in the first frames of the video. Might be that the preview has been added manually outside of Rise360 somehow but it's there.
Attaching two screenshots and an actual preview image from the course about regret.
I opened a support case on your behalf so our support engineers can check how those videos were created by our partners from The Next Big Idea team. Someone will be in touch shortly through email to share additional information!

Hi Allison, how have you done the thumbnail in videos used in Next Big Idea Club courses? It seems it has been set up there somehow..
Many thanks,
Mirka
