Karlis,
Thanks for the example. It is nice and clean and makes a great template for any topic. Thanks for sharing the file. It should help a lot of other users who want this functionality.
Thanks! We used layers and duplicated buttons on the base layer and also on each separate layer. It may seem a little bit confusing why the buttons are duplicated, but that gives the smooth effect when opening a tab :)
Karlis,
Thanks so much for the unselfish sharing. This is highly valuable and utilitarian.
I am getting an error message in Office 365 Word when downloading. Please let us know if you have a solution.
Hi Karlis, I want to use your beautiful template but obviously doing something wrong. I replaced the contents with my content on the base layer and of the other laysers but when I go into preview mode I still see your content in the headers, what could I be doing wrong.
Hi Leslie!
On the base layer we have two sets of headings, did you replace both of them? You can see them in timeline or, when you click the white space underneath all the visible buttons, you'll select rectangle element which acts like a mask. Hide it from timeline and you will see the other set of buttons. You'll need to hide also the fifth button/heading to see the first one of the doubled set. :) Just don't forget to set all of the elements back to visible after you have finished editing! :)
I too love the simple and sleek design. I am just curious as to how your hotspots are triggered. They appear to be a part of the slide, and I'm not seeing the triggers. Anyway, thank you for sharing your template!
Hi Catherine! We are glad that you liked it! Could you explain a bit more about the missing triggers? All of the triggers and actions are visible at the right side of the window like usual and some of them are placed in layers. If you don't see them in your Storyline, please let us know and we will try to help you :)
Hi Karlis,
I did find the hot spots which were visible when editing states. For me, the hotspots are not visible on the right side unless I am editing states. This isn't a structure that I've seen before but everything about the faq module works, so I think I'm fine. I'm fairly new to storyline, so this may just be a little more advanced than my current skills. Thanks!
Thank you for your reply, now I understood the issue! We use the hotspots (the green transparent ones) in states so that the buttons would have the hand icon on hover. This is a quick fix for an issue with Storyline 2 and HTML5. They don't have any other purpose, that's why the triggers were missing. All triggers are set to buttons in slide and those you can see on the right side. Sorry about the miscommunication, I hope this makes more sense now :)
How can you change the colors of the plus and minus circles? I love this template but have to brand with our organizations colors. I've been able to change everything except the plus and minuses. thanks so much!
Hi Diana! We couldn't use inbuilt tools for these plus and minus circles, so we placed images instead. We created an Adobe Illustrator file where you can change colours, export them as images and replace them in your course. We updated the file in our homepage, so you just have to download the template again and inside the zipped folder you will find the template file and Adobe Illustrator file. Here is the link - https://fastercourse.com/download/free-storyline-360-elearning-template-faq-page/
I agree that this is a bit complicated, but I will try to guide you through :)
First select one of the question tabs from your timeline. Then switch to state mode where you will see 2 states - red and grey. Take the green hotspot aside for a moment and you will be able to click on the plus/minus image and the red tab. With the right click you can select 'Change Picture' and there you can switch to your new image. After that place the green hotspot back.
Unfortunately you can't replace all images at once, so you will have to go through all buttons to replace all images. Be aware that the buttons are duplicated (so you would have the nice transition when you open one tab) and you have to change the image also for the hidden buttons in the timeline.
Hello Amanda,
Sure, thanks for reaching out.
The icons can be updated in the icon buttons states.
And btw here is a video on how to create such page:

Hello Paula, sorry, I didn't understand the question, could you clarify what you mean? This template is built in Articulate Storyline, so you need Storyline to use it, you can not open it in excel. You can use it to explain some features of Excel for example.
Hi Karlis, I have seen you have used this here,
https://fastercourse.com/template/free-storyline-360-template-pick-your-movie/
as a web object and it works very smooth with the scroll bar and fonts aligned to the slide. When I tried to add this as a web object it doesn't create a scrollbar and font sizes are small. Could you please clarify how to fit this as a web object? Thanks in advance.
Hello Thilagam,
these two templates have actually been built completely differently. FAQ template has been built using layers in Storyline, while the one you link to (Pick your movie template) has been built by adding web object to Storyline. And in that case web object is external and to modify it you need to adjust html code, and in order to change design you need to know a bit of CSS and Javascript. While the FAQ template - the one above is way more easy to change as everything is done in Storyline.
