Prevent Autoplay of Storyline Slides inside of Rise

May 04, 2024

I cannot figure out how to prevent storyline slides shows with audio from automatically playing when embedded in a Rise lesson. I have a Rise content page with two storyline elements embedded. The slides start auto advancing and the audio plays for both lectures at the same time.

To prevent this I have tried:

  • Adding a cover photo to each storyline.
  • Disabling the advance to next slide unless the user clicks (it's still advancing anyways).

There is no audio on the first slide. Audio starts playing on slide two.

Any ideas?

Hi Lenora, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!✨

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your Storyline blocks auto-playing within a Rise lesson. These blocks automatically play by default, but you can prevent this!

If the first slide doesn't have audio or video:

  1. Add a trigger on the first slide to pause the timeline when the slide's timeline starts.
  2. Insert a button or choose from Content Library 360 icons.
  3. Add a trigger to resume the slide's timeline when the user clicks the button or icon.

If the first slide has audio or video:

  1. Insert a blank slide with a play button as your first slide.
  2. On the new slide, insert a button or pick an icon from Content Library 360.
  3. Add a trigger to jump to the next slide when the user clicks the button/icon.

I hope this helps! If you need additional assistance, please let me know here or privately in a support case. We're happy to take a look at your .Story file as well!
