Memory Game - Storyline
Apr 02, 2013
Hey Everyone,
Here is memory game we just made with Articulate Storyline. Hope you guys will like it:
You may watch a preview with the following link:
http://download.courseware.nl/articulate/memory/story.html
You may download the source package with the link below:
http://download.courseware.nl/articulate/memory/memory.zip
I've also included the free font, so you can get the same layout.
I've used states. So if you want to create a new memory game for another genre, you only have to change the states of the 10 squares and you can ignore the long list of triggers.
If you have questions or you notice a problem, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Bastiaan Timmer

Really nice job!
Wondering how you have made it possible for the images to revert back to numbers when the wrong answer is chosen.
I am downloading the source files. May be that will help me understand. Thanks for sharing
Hi Anand,
I'm using a seperate variable called vCount. When this variable reaches a value of 3, then it will flip some of the images to a normal state. The trigger list is very long, but I don't know if there is a better solution.
Awesome job, Bastiaan! Thank you very much for sharing
Hey Bastiaan, this looks really great! It's fun seeing how you put this together.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Christine and David!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for uploading this! This is very cool
Thanks for sharing. I love the look of it - very nice, clean design.
And if you want to randomize the images, you can use a question bank. Duplicate the slide a couple of times, change the order of the images and place these slides in a question bank. Randomize the question bank and show only 1 slide. Each time you enter the course, you will get another memory game.
This is great! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing after all your hard work!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Talk about just in time! Thanks so much for sharing. I love this community!
You're welcome!
Bastiaan - Im trying to create my memory game based on yours, however, Im not getting how you were able to make an image "stay" once they've matched the correct tiles together. Is it possible for you to do a screenr on how you did this?
Very nice! Great Job!
Thanks for sharing!
Bastiaan this is amazing! Thank you so much for supplying the source code for this project. I was about to start a similar project on my own and this is going to greatly cut down on the development time. Wonderfully done!
Hi Jeanette,
I sent you a message on your personal wall. It's difficult to explain, because there are a lot of triggers. If you want to change the Memory game with your own images and lay-out, you don't have to change the triggers. You only have to change the states of the images/shapes.
You can place the shapes in another order or you could use a question bank to make a random Memory game. As I mentioned before:
And if you want to randomize the images, you can use a question bank. Duplicate the slide a couple of times, change the order of the images and place these slides in a question bank. Randomize the question bank and show only 1 slide. Each time you enter the course, you will get another memory game.
Awesome Bastiaan
thanks for sharing
that's a long list of trigger
Thanks Bastiaan. You've been very helpful. The thing is I have 9 pairs and I can't use your template (I wish I could) as I dont understand fully what's behind the triggers.
I will try the question bank to make a memory game. I hope I can get it to work.
Thanks again.
Hi Jeanette,
If you have 9 pairs, then you would have almost twice the amount of triggers. That would be very difficult to maintain. Can't you make two memory games? One with 5 paris and one with 4 pairs? You can duplicate the slide and delete one of the pairs.
Really great job Bastiaan!
Did you consider using true/false state instead of all those numeric variables?
Hi Mauro,
No, I did not consider True/False variables. I always use numeric variables One of these variables "vCount" will be raised by one when you click on one of the images. I can't do this with true/false variables. So that's why I use numeric variables.
Of course, variables are very flexible!
I was just trying to figure out a way to simplify the process... but in the end I always come to variables...
Anyway, good job!
Variables are awesome! Thanks for your reply!
Great work my friend
