Learn how the Curiosity Rover is helping us study Mars in this demo. Be sure to check out the interactive model of the rover, which was created with the Storyline block in Rise. It's a great way to add custom interactions to the responsive content you create with Rise.
@Julien: it's just a Storyline block inserted into a Rise lesson. I didn't do anything special for the lesson other than insert content blocks in Rise. That's what creates the long page.
@Tom, thank you for your answer. Is rise much different than articulate story line 3. I m trying to do this long page effect for a long time now but still failed.
@Julien: this videos gives you a good overview of how to build courses in Rise. You'll notice it's a simple process of adding content blocks to create lessons. https://youtu.be/e7rJeMxQHko?t=409
Tom, I simply loved this course! GIF in the header is engaging! How did you manage to hide it under the solid blue color when the course is opened though? I saw in other examples that the header GIF was shown just the same even when you are in the course already, in the minimized menu header, and it looked disturbing. I love that in your course nothing flickers in the left top corner when I am inside the course. How is it technically possible?
@Irina: in the theme settings you can choose to show or hide the cover photo. I agree that some animated gifs can be distracting in the corner. Another option is to change the text contrast to hide more of the cover image. https://cl.ly/0071050950d2
You can add section titles where you create the lessons, hit Shift+Enter and it creates the section instead of the lesson. The rest of the menu is automated in Rise.
Tom, this is such great work. Is it restricted to the Articulate eLearning community, or is this something I can share with my child's class as they wrap up their school year with distance learning? Thank you.
Tom- I realize I'm a bit late to this conversation. I am trying to apply the rover animation to a project I am working on with a 3D image of an X box controller. The goal is to have the user click the menu options and the video turns to the side connected with that section. So far, I was able to get the image to turn for the first layer, but can't duplicate it for the rest. Any advice on how I might accomplish this?
I don't know how you built your animations. For the rover demo, I built those in PowerPoint and exported as video.
I start with a static image and link to a layer that plays the animation. From there, I go back to the static image. This way, the animations always pick up from the same location.
In your explanation, you just need a trigger to jump to layer. Then determine what triggers it (hotspot, media completes, etc).
The work you did to create this is absolutely incredible! This one piece of work alone could be used to teach others so many Rise/Storyline features. I am in awe.
