Looks like I can't add an attachment here. But here is the link where I could add it . . .

Thank you so much for sharing this example. This format could be addictive, making the learner eager to participate in more of this type of education models.
This looks great but Articulate keeps crashing when I try to preview the story file or even publish it to review. I was also wondering how you would use this to help people learn.
Thanks William. Not sure why you are having a problem with Articulate. Works fine on my side and others have had no problems. I've probably opened and previewed this file hundreds of time when developing.
It's really meant as an example of what you can do with using triggers, variables, layers, states, and a few gifs and sound effects added too. I learned a lot about what triggers can and can't do creating this demo.
Richard,
Great game and nice extras like choosing the level of the game, the radar, and so on. Nicely done!
I am not sure if you know this but Allison LaMotte created a battle ship game that I thought was really well done. She included quiz slides so people had to get an answer right to win the square. You can see her work here. https://community.articulate.com/articles/blow-your-learners-out-of-the-water-with-this-battleship-e-learning-game/
I liked it so much I made a game of my own where I added images, sounds, and music. http://jeffrfiles.s3.amazonaws.com/ArticulatePosts/Battle%20Ship%20Examples/Ancient%20Battleship%20-%20Storyline%20output/story_html5.html
I also did one for StarTrek. http://jeffrfiles.s3.amazonaws.com/ArticulatePosts/ELH%20Challenge%20242%20Sound%20Effects... Expand

I really like the ability to have the game be quizzed based so some learning could take place. Thanks Richard for bringing up the topic again.
Thanks for your very kind words Jeffrey! And I wasn't aware of Allison's game, and her level of detail is amazing. Really like your Battleship and Star Trek version. . .very clever! I'm still very new to the Articulate community and every day finding new and interesting examples.
Hey Richard! Good job. I feel like your demo and my demo, which also riffs on Battleships, could be combined to create something even more special. Drop me a line!

Thanks Jonathan! There are a couple of things I would add. One is have the missiles fly across the screen to hit the square picked by the user. I will check out your version too!
Really like and appreciate the work that went into this. I'm barely an intermediate developer in Storyline and one issues I'm having trying to use this is having it resume in between shots.
I checked the slide settings, but imagine it's something to do with the use of variables, not being able to save state?
