I want to be able to click the forward button (see image) and have it loop between three images. I know I need to use a number variable, but how will Storyline know how many time I've clicked the button. How do I set up this variable?
Have a look at the attached file and see if that's what you wanted. I used a numeric variable that is increased/decreased by the NextImage & PrevImage buttons. Slidelayer triggers change the state of the image object, based on the value of the variable.
Cool challenge. I'm still trying to figure out how to do it completely without variables...I'm getting close! I've attached a sample using layers. The one True/False variable is used to activate the back button on layer 1 to move back to layer 3 if the user has reached that point.
The states option didn't even cross my mind as I was building. I love it! And love the combination of states and the variable counter.
@Jonathan, I like Michael's solution as it's more of a standalone module and won't interfere with other layers/triggers that you might have in your design.

Thanks Mike! Every once in a while, the fog clears and I have a lucid moment Your solution works just as well, it all depends on Jonathan's exact setup.
