Active curser on background and hotspots

Nov 28, 2013

I have created a Freeform hotspot question oiver an image.

Can anyone help with advice on how to deactivate the curser over the background image and have it active over the hotspots.

Problem is if the user clicks on the background area away from the correct or the incorrect hotspots they get an incorrect response and are kicked of to the next question.

The hotspots idnetified by numbers are on parts of the image and in an adjacent area there is a text list explaining the options to be selected. If the user click on the text thinking they can select there they may have the correct response but get an incorrect score.

Hi Philip,

This is expected behavior in Storyline, since you could create additional hotspots anywhere on the screen. You can turn off the "Show hand cursor on Hover" though, by right clicking on the hotspot, and from the shortcut menu, remove the checkmark from the "show hand" option

Also, you may want to look into the set up for how the question is submitted, whether it's based on the Player controls, on the click of a hotspot or the Submit button:
