Hi everybody, is there a way to change the radio button in an existing quiz (default for multiple choice) to a check box (default for multiple response). I've both types of questions in a quiz session.
You cannot change the check boxes to radio buttons. You can do it if you use a freeform question and build it yourself. Not a recommended thing to do, when designing courses you should follow web conventions as these are items that help guide a user on how a quiz will function. Radio = single response, checkbox = multiple response. This helps to reduce the intrinsic cognitive load.
I second what Phil said. Using radio buttons on single-response questions and checkboxes on multiple-response questions is a long-standing UI convention.
Ok, but if you need to switch a multiple choice quiz to a single answer quiz, the checkboxes will need to be changed to radio buttons. So, is this possible? I've copied the answer box to a new freeform pick one question slide and rebuilt the slide in that manner. It is all functioning fine. But now I need to convert my checkboxes.
You can't change a checkbox to a radio button, nor a radio button to a checkbox. So changing from a multi-response to a single-response question (or vice versa) requires creating new buttons.
If you click on a radio button and go to the Format tab, you'll see the option to change the color of the buttons in the upper-left corner of the screen:
