STORY VIEW provides an overview of how slides are connected. When there are multiple branches, the program does what it can to represent the flow. Alas, it's not always how the developer might lay it out if they were drawing the flow. Unfortunately, there's no way to change the connections (other than altering how slides are linked, of course).

You could try adjusting the zoom level of the view using the control in the lower right corner of the window. But I don't know if that will bring your items closer together or just require you to scroll more to see everything.

In the end (that is, in the published course), how STORY VIEW looks doesn't matter. What matters is that your links work as intended.

If you're using STORY VIEW to open slides, consider these options:

  • When you're editing a slide, you can switch to any other scene using the drop-down in the Scenes panel. Note that this method always opens the first slide in the selected scene.

  • When you open multiple slides from STORY VIEW, the tabs to those slides will appear above the slide-editing area. That makes is easy to switch between specific slides.

Hey, thanks. I use both of those options and they're really helpful, it's just frustrating to have to use the horizontal scroll bar to scroll so far over when I want to look at the branched scenes on the right as a whole. I was hoping there was a setting. For example, I've seen a few screen shots where scenes are on white backgrounds. Is there a setting for that? (I wish I had a screen shot to show). Thanks.

Hi Kris,

The screenshot you shared does show a lot of space between scenes. While this is not necessarily a bug, I'd like to look at your project file to see if there is a way to reduce the spacing. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
