I am trying to move slides around so that they are in the scene that I wish them to be in. Is this a thing? In other words, I want to rearrange slides to combine them into scenes that make more sense chronologically.

Honestly, you can use scenes in whatever way makes the most sense to you for whatever you're developing. It's definitely not a problem to move them from one scene to another as you organize your project, either.
