The image zoom is a great built-in feature in Storyline. You simply add a picture, select the zoom feature, and—voila!—your image expands when learners click on it.

I don't know if I understand the problem very well, but maybe this solve it.
The two rectangles are triggers that changes the state automatically each 2 seconds. If you want more time, move the rectangles on the timeline.
