This feature is not in the older versions of PowerPoint, such as 2010. Time to upgrade! ;)
- I believe it actually is in the 2010 version. Did you check out this tutorial: https://www.shapechef.com/blog/how-to-merge-combine-shapes-in-powerpoint-2010 ?
- I did use this tutorial. However, it only combines shapes. It does not work for combining shape and text. Even when the text is part of a shape it will not combine the shapes. I'll have to use the Text-fill / fill with picture. It works just as well. Thank you.
- I'm not really sure what you mean because at the end of this tutorial I just have 1 "shape" and it's a combination of my image and my text.
- I stand corrected, Allison--it's in 2010, but nice and hidden. Great that it's visible by default in the newer versions.
- I'm not sure it is actually visible by default in later versions. I believe you still have to activate it but I'm not positive.
