Heather, your demo is brilliant! I love it! And, it's so easy to recreate. I just did a simple mockup of your idea for my DH (and biz partner) to see if we could use this for a current client project.
I had been noodling in my thoughts of doing something like this for the client, and I think your demo is a "sign" to move in that direction!
