If you were in the room at Articuland this morning, or watched the live stream, you just heard Brian Gil, our Chief Product and Operations Officer, walk through everything we're launching today....

Despite the admirable attempt at patronizing us as a profession, you all know full well that what you announced today will decimate thousands of peoples’ jobs. Whether it’s because the tool is actually capable of that, or because the people with the purse strings in many organizations will believe it enough to take the opportunity to cut costs now and think later, the impact is the same. Many people who have used your product regularly and contributed to your bottom line, whether by choice or obligation, will be out of work and forced to find new careers so that you all could prosper. So hooray for you, Articulate.
Hey SarahSterner-66 —my name is Noele Flowers, I'm the Director of Community here at Articulate. I've read your comment and I can definitely hear the frustration and worry about how our announcement yesterday could impact the industry. You're certainly not the only person I've seen express this concern, so I know it's a real one and while it's tough to hear, I'm grateful to you for sharing it!
The thing I want to say clearly is that L&D is core to this business. While the industry is vast and different training professionals have different pain points and opinions on the right technology to serve the industry, the changes we announced yesterday did come out of a genuine desire to solve the challenges we have heard directly from our user base: that their work is moving faster than they can keep up with, and that they risk losing a foothold as central strategists and experts without tools that empower them to work more efficiently and seamlessly with SMEs.
Here in Orlando where we announced this launch (including about an hour of product deep-dive during our keynote), I have personally talked to dozens of training professionals who are excited about how these new tools can support elevating their work. And at the same time, they got the chance to share any questions and anxieties they had with us live on the expo floor. I think that chance to discuss and ingest these changes goes a long way for both of us—it helped our users understand what is (and isn't!) changing, and helped us hear what resonated and what didn't.
I'd love to extend that opportunity to you, too—if you're game, want to shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can coordinate a time to chat? I want to hear more about your perspective, get your feedback, and chat about what aspects of this might actually support your career in L&D.
Pssst I know I use a lot of em dashes but I promise that's just the way I write, this was written by a human 😃
It's very sad to see you investing effort into creating another nondescript AI tool where you dump your raw stuff and it generates some AI course that nobody will read instead of fixing Storyline.
Now seriously, I don't see people excited to see an AI movie. What I see is that people like to read a book created by a real writer, to watch a movie created by a real studio with real people, and yes, to take a course created by a real instructional designer. Corporate has lost its mind with AI and Articulate is just another misled business.
