Week 1 Welcome & Introductions
Hello Everyone! I'm Ruby. Currently located in Oklahoma City, but born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I'm a Sr. L&D Analyst within a corporate training team and have created many eLearning courses, along with leading training initiatives for some of our organizational implementations we are currently undergoing. I'm a bit of a one-stop-shop: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation all stay with me with the projects im on. That actually leads me to what I'm hoping to get out of this AI Assistant Certification Cohort: streamlining. When I get a project, I see it through from start to finish. I want to make sure that I am leveraging AI to be as efficient as possible, without losing the effectiveness of the training material or intentionality with the engagement pieces that are leveraged.
And this is Ziggy 😺. She's been my pet companion for 10 years now.
Hi Ruby and welcome to class.
I teach the practicum course at the University of California at Irvine, and I make my students walk through being the soup-to-nuts e-learning design and developer. I have to wonder how many folks are segmented and hand things from ID to Graphic Design to Elearning Developer. I've always worked in shops where we did it all.
AI is certainly helpful in this role. Enjoy the discoveries!

I've always worked in "one-stop" shops as well. I do it all - storyboard, graphic design, and eLearning development. I think I prefer it that way.
