Three changes you made (and many others):
(1) Prompted AI to rewrite course and lesson intros using an engaging hook.
(2) Created a roll-over image instead of an accordion to present 4 pillars.
(3) Created a job aid regarding mental health. This way manager can download and reference post completion.
Most valuable AI feature or capability:
Just the initial work done by AI saves tremendous amount of hours to create a new course. However, some sections/topics are not as aligned with the original documents/writing. In my practice, when text must be very carefully worded and sometimes meaning can be lost if you change sentences, this is a huge deal — I need to have screen by screen alignment session to make sure important thoughts and explanations did not get omitted or rewrote. Most of the time they get changed!
Challenges:
AI is a bit like a cranky teenager with a mind of their own… it rewrites a lot of original text. In my experience, some SME's are very particular how they want to word certain items.
Generating images. That is definitely a consistent struggle. Sometimes the text is written on a person’s face, sometimes the image does not produce what you think the prompt is stating, other times, results are great.
Original name was “Fostering team happiness and fulfillment for new managers”. Change it to “New Manager’s Guide to Happy and Fulfilled Teams”. I think it is more appealing to the audience. But, the AI generated “Building Happy and Fulfilled Teams: A Guide for New Managers” when the course got produced. I settled on “The Manager’s Guide to Building Teams That Thrive”.
Learning objectives. Three lessons and AI generated 3 different style learning objectives – one had Blooms taxonomy based, full sentence outcomes, the other had more of a topic based outline (all words from capital letters), and the 3rd lesson had something in between – statements with lower case letters.
Quiz. AI created multiple correct style answers for the question with one correct answer. Squares instead of circles.

This is a great write up of your experience, Inga! Were you able to find a balance where the AI assistant made the changes you wanted without changing the text?
- IngaBryant9 days agoCommunity Member
For this exercise, I did not really worry too much about being close to the original text. If it was one of my work projects, I would have spent some time looking at the original side-by-side with the course and copying-pasting some verbiage, and rewriting some other sentences. Of course, it is dependent of the topic and the SME (some of them are more peculiar than others).
- JulieBomberry8 days agoCommunity Member
I also get the same issue where AI creates a multiple correct style quiz question, where there's only one correct answer. a cranky teenager with a mind of their own is a good metaphor lol

Hi Inga, I really liked the rollover images (they added so much interest) and the downloadable job aid you made. The look and feel of your course is so nice, and italicizing the instructions to the exercises and putting them in a different color font was a cool idea, and helped them stand out. Nice job on this!

Hi! I am following along with the Practice 1 exercise and I'm not seeing an AI icon on the text editor. I see it in the block settings, but not the text editor as shown in the tutorial. Do you know why that would happen? I do use Mighty plug in with Rise. Could this be the reason all options aren't displaying as they should? I can accomplish everything with the AI option in block settings, but it would be nice to follow along verbatim with the tutorial. Thanks!
- TamelaCricke76511 days agoCommunity Member
Never mind. It's a browser issue with Chrome. :-)
- JeanMarrapodi-c7 days agoPeer Guide
So glad that you found it! I've also had that happen and found if I shut down Storyline and reopened in Voila! it comes back.

3 main changes:
- Changed the layout of several blocks using the instant convert feature.
- Prompted AI to rewrite a few blocks to summarize what was there in an engaging tone.
- Incorporated AI audio in a few blocks.
Most Valuable AI Feature:
For Rise, instant convert. There have been several times in the past when I would start out creating a Rise course and would want to change the block I used. This saves an incredible amount of time and I can see it in several different formats before choosing.
For Storyline, the AI Assistant chat feature. I especially like the sync text with audio. I used it for a racing gamified course outside of this cohort and found that very valuable.
Challenges:
The AI course build is nice, but it does add a lot more text blocks than I'd like, even with the interaction piece turned on. So I found myself spending a lot of time tweaking each block using AI, when it would have been nice to be able to dictate percentage of interaction vs. text only blocks at the beginning.
It also was very slow to respond when I was in there trying to adjust pieces and add blocks.
- JeanMarrapodi-c7 days agoPeer Guide
What a clever way to incorporate the pillars in your images, TeriCremeans-da! I love how you did that. I love that instant convert piece too. A real timesaver, for sure.
- MarlaCole-9c6f06 days agoCommunity Member
Completely agree with JeanMarrapodi-c! The incorporation of pillars in the image was brilliant!
I hadn't thought about the challenge you mentioned of Rise adding more text blocks than necessary. But I agree! I was tweaking the block padding to make the text more cohesive looking.

Three Changes I Made to Improve Learner Engagement
- I created a custom style for the pictures, including our brand hex colours in the instructions. This ensured that the design was consistent throughout the entire eLearning.
- I replaced long texts with bulleted lists and bold keywords using the given prompts to improve readability and reduce cognitive load.
- I created a final quiz with AI support—it took me only a few minutes!—to help learners ensure they understood the key concepts.
Most Valuable AI Feature
There are many features that I find very valuable:
The automatic course structure and content generation is amazing for reducing the effort required to create a first draft. However, it is very important to use this feature once you have gone through the documents and have a clear understanding of the topic, so that you can refine the learning outcomes and lesson structure before clicking Create.
Creating questions from the source files is one of the best features of the AI assistant. It saves so much time, and you can refine the generated questions and feedback messages to fit your goals.
Challenges I Faced
I find writing prompts for AI images and styles very difficult, but the existing option to select text in the course and “Create an AI image prompt” helps a lot with this.
I would say that finding the best prompt to avoid too much iteration is the biggest challenge.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I see AI as a partner that speeds up the development process, but human expertise remains essential for creating truly effective learning experiences.
I enjoyed this training very much, and I have taken away many ideas and best practices from it.

I like the aesthetics and the colour cohesion in your course! well done.

I love how you’ve managed to customise the images to match our brand identity. Great job!
- JeanMarrapodi-c6 days agoPeer Guide
Your brand colors are nifty. We don't see those combinations in the US, so I looked you up to see where you work, and it's in Spain. Funny how cultures dictate things like that! I love how you included the vertical step blocks in this. The screen-by-screen explanation, taking up the whole space, really helped me focus because of the image you included. I wanted to copy that clarify tasks image and anonymously share it with an SME or two. <wink> You didn't include images in all of them. Was that a design choice or time constraint?
I might add a sentence between this activity and the previous one to introduce it. It felt like an abrupt jump. You also did a great job with scenario-based application questions to reinforce the learning. Nice work!

Three changes
- I used AI editor to create new images that were in a hospital setting. I also prompted the editor to use clothing styles that match what would normally be worn by our manager and employees.
- I converted a list to a flip card activity and included images on the back of the cards. I created a custom image style using our organization color palette
- I used the multi-media Custom Block to add an AI generated exemplar with narration from a manager about giving support and feedback to an employee.
Most valuable feature
Being able to create images that are specific to the content and to the medical field is a huge time saver. I find that much of my time is spent trying to find images that support the content. I like that I can give the AI assistant a hex code and it will work in the color palette.
The AI voices are much better that what I currently have access to. I like the Custom Blocks and look forward to exploring those more. I think they will add an additional level of engagement and personalization to the courses.
Challenges
Figuring out which prompts to use is going to be the biggest challenge for me. I like the idea of saving the prompts that work well and going back to those. This is also a good way of maintaining consistency in the look of courses that are built for organizational learning needs.
- JeanMarrapodi-c6 days agoPeer Guide
Ooooo. Look at you! Adding in the AI tutor. Bravo LeannaBonczkows !
Yours is the first I've seen where the clothing was adapted to the workplace setting. It worked well here.
Note for you. You're using the captions field for the ALT-Tags to describe the pictures. The caption is a short blub about the image that extends its idea. Alt-Tags are behind the scenes and read aloud by screen readers for learners with visual impairments. Sighted readers shouldn't see the alt tags, but do see the captions. When we had newspapers in print, the caption explained the image and how it connected with the story. For example, if it was an image of firefighters at a fire, the story would give the details, but the caption might say, "Rescue workers battled most of Friday morning to control and extinguish the fire on Main Street." For your very first image, the caption could read: "What kinds of things promote workplace happiness in teams?" Or... "Imagine if everyone on your team was engaged, felt a sense of belonging, and knew how their work contributed to the company's success. Let's see how you can make that happen." Do you see the difference?
I love the image of the banners with the four pillars! That's colorful and an excellent way that shows them in a powerful way. Overall, great job.

Prompts:
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
1.) I added an AI image of a team of diverse co-workers. I thought this would be a good way to represent many different cultures when trying to draw a picture of who this course is for.
2.) I used convert block to flashcards. I used this block to help add engagement to each topic where learnings could think about the topic before flipping the card and learning more.
3.) I often used the prompt "rewrite or change tone to be more personable and instructional" to help simplify the text and have a more inviting tone so learners feel a part of their learning journal.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
I enjoyed the AI Audio feature. We've been using storyline audio for scripts up until this point so Rise having the capability is incredibly helpful and neat. The different tones and accents were great. Lastly, I enjoyed the "bold key terms" feature.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
As much as I loved the AI image generator, the images it made looked too similar. I had to retype the prompt a few times to get closer to what I wanted. I also found myself constantly using the "make shorter" feature with text. Some of the AI generated prompts were quite lengthy and seemed like a lot of filler words/sentences versus being concise.
Great experience overall! I really enjoyed this course.- JeanMarrapodi-c6 days agoPeer Guide
Great start TaylorGrain with the reflective hook in the beginning. This is a solid course. I really liked your choice of picture styles. You're right. The revision of the tone improved this overall, making it much more personable. I'm glad there were some good ah-ha's in here.

Hi Group 1!
Here is my QuickShare Link to my course: https://share.articulate.com/__TFMo6pI4sJDeRysDFpE
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific! I started each unit text with a hook (from the Tips and Tricks lesson)- we used to write blogs and that was a fun exercise I wanted to see how the agent handled it. I also converted a block of text in each unit, to an Accordion, Process, and Flashcards to see how well it handled the requests or if it felt too forced. It went well! I also changed the style of images to more minimal, line-drawn style throughout because I like the look, and I can't do that at work (we have guidelines for visuals).
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you? I love the Instant Convert feature to change the block to a different format. It saves time and usually has a fresh take that is different than what I would do initially.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? Going back and adding more detail when I don't initially get what I want. Patience is key!

Hi Mike, I like the use of the Coach with AI text to voice at the end of your lesson. Makes it seem more personalized.

I learned the following: Ability to use AI to change a particular structure e.g. from list to accordion or flip cards, etc.
Combining paragraphs, shortening or lengthening by %, setting the brand colors/logo, and more. I also learned that you can select the type of images you want - i went for Vector Illustration and it was exciting!
Outside of the cases used, I learned how to use the coding in Articulate and I added two interactive activities that I actually liked. You can find them in the first and second chapters. Let me know what you think <3 - TamelaCricke7656 days agoCommunity Member
Hi everyone,
Here are three of the many changes I made:
- Changed and created new AI-generated images, especially for flashcard blocks to make them more visually appealing.
- Switched up some of the summary narratives to AI avatar video snippets.
- Created example scenarios to drive some of the concepts home in a real-to-life way.
The feature that was most valuable to me was the convert a block feature. That will save me a bunch of time!
The biggest challenge I experienced was consistency in image generation. Even with providing very detailed custom prompts, I struggled with any illustration image generation except for plain editorial. I had to regenerate multiple times to get images that looked like they belonged together. This is the reason I use other AI subscriptions for image generation because they are consistent with generating the same character types and imagery.
Here's my share link. I hope you enjoy what you see: https://share.articulate.com/Yh8ccjGKgdbjaVzfJATNz

Hiya folks!
I went through the list and completed the wk2 activities.
https://share.articulate.com/15Zgm3iNdg3pgr4u9Aqmy
3 Changes:
- Created a custom image style off the Editorial. By subbing green for tan and specifically asked for "woodsy." I found that the images were a bit more consistent wth this style.
- Used Reflection block as Conclusion for the module with audio - created AI image to replace stock photo.
- Added Hook Strategy by way of custom prompt on each lesson header text.
I liked the instant block convert and the multiversion tip/trick for changing content tone. What surprised me was how much I liked how on the nose the results were!
My biggest challenge in getting resuts I wanted from AI Assistant was consistency. Consistency in images and in lesson/content formatting. It seemed like I would learn something new and then go back and reapply it to the previously worked content. It's a learning curve. It'll take a little more time for me to process versus AI LOL!
