Week 2 - Group 1 Discussion
Hi all, here is my course. I changed a bit in each lesson and added the AI quiz at the end the course.

3+ changes:
- I opened my 2nd lesson with a Hook Strategy. I think it helps the content seem more personal and relatable.
- I used custom AI generated images from prompts created by the AI editor. I find it challenging to come up with detailed prompts on my own.
- I added interactive blocks. I added process blocks, flip cards, accordion blocks, and sorting blocks to promote engagement.
- I added AI audio to the quotes and key statements for more of an impact for the learner to hear it aloud.
- I added divider blocks to break down the content into more focused chunks.
Valuable AI feature:
- I really liked the instant convert. Sometimes I have an idea about how I would like the learner to engage with the content using a particular block, but it ends up being better suited to another.
Challenge:
- I found it challenging to create unique supporting AI images. They all kept coming out looking the same, but I imagine that has to do with the course content.
You're right, AndreaDeForest sometimes the AI generated images come out like cheesy stock images. After reviewing about 40 of these courses, it's obvious how similar they can be. Have you tried changing up the style? There are some great examples in our group of cartoon images, black-and-white images, 3D-animated images... and on it goes. When I did my cohort assignment last time the course ran, I asked it to create images in the style of Mario Brothers. It did a great job. Of course, I'm not a SME on them, and having a younger colleague review them, they said it added oddball characters in there. But it was close enough for me. I've also asked it to create things in the style of the Sunday comics (do they still publish them?) and that was a ton of fun.
Sometimes being specific in your prompt helps. Rather than saying "a diverse team having fun together" and getting 6 people sitting around a table smiling at each other, what if you said, "a team of coworkers solving a problem and having fun together" that introduces a new variable that might trip things to be more like what you want. Also saying, "no, that's not what I want. This is too....whatever it is. Try again" can help.
AI is learning, as are we in getting better at prompting. Sometimes learning is a struggle, and as you read this thread, you and many others have found this to be true.
