3 Changes I Made
- Added Key Takeaway custom blocks at the end of each lesson to align with the objectives and prepare the user for the end of course quiz.
- Updated long paragraphs to be shorter and/or use bulleted lists. I made this change to keep the learner engaged and reduce cognitive load.
- Converted a flash card activity to a bulleted list for easier comparison and to see everything at once without flipping cards back and forth. I made this change when I felt it made more sense for the learner to see the whole picture at once.
Most Valuable AI Feature
I used the AI Assistant Generate lesson summary feature to aid with making the key points for each lesson. It was extremely helpful because I was able to specify how many key takeaway points I wanted, and then use that for my custom block.
Challenges
Sometimes, I feel the AI struggles to remember something I already asked for. Let's say I want a section of text to be shorter and more concise. I can ask the AI to edit the text for this and it works well. Then, I might decide I want to change the tone but when it regenerates, it might add a lot more of the word fluff I wanted to remove initially. Custom prompts can assist with this, however. I know I can ask it to retain the conciseness or just ask it to do both things in one pass.
I like how you used AI-generated lesson summaries to create focused key takeaways that support learner success. Your thoughtful approach to simplifying content and choosing the most effective learning interactions shows a strong learner-centered design mindset. Great job!
