3 changes I made: I made quite a few changes including playing with bolding words, adding AI images, changing block types, and editing text. The biggest change I made was taking an existing block and converting it into a process. Once in the process blocks, I created an image for each category and used the text AI to write a scenario which I converted to AI voice. I always love to find areas in a course where I can add something that feels a little more "humanlike" by including real examples. I really liked utilizing this as I am a big champion of the concept that people learn best when they can make a personal connection to something. By using the AI voice, you can hear more emotion/inflection in it that previous AI voice models which really helped. I also completed the changes that were required including adding knowledge checks and the quiz at the end. I did play with changing some blocks to clickable images. In those, I created my own custom style, which was fun to play with.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Similar to what other people have shared, I love the custom block feature. Sometimes I just want to see what content can look like in a different format and so that is something that I really enjoy using. I also appreciate the text edits, especially when I can put directions in such as to change the tone, reading level, or to make it more concise. A lot of my work is working with SME's that are science focused and we often have to simplify the language. This helps to save a lot of time. I liked that the AI did put in interactions when I created the course. It helped me to think about the content in a different way. If this was my own course where I was really familiar with the content, I don't know if I would use this feature, but for someone who is very new to Rise I can imagine that this would be extremely helpful to just see what some of the options are.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? I did find that it ignored my commands when I asked it to rewrite something without em dashes which is a bit frustrating. I also don't love that there isn't an option to change blocks into clickable images. It would be nice if that conversion was available so the makers had the right text and then I was only needing to do the image conversion and arranging the markers in a format I liked. As other people have stated, AI always needs that human review so it's so important to read thru everything and make sure that it hasn't gone rogue.
It's clear EmilyBarber-43c that this isn't your first rodeo here. What a great idea to leverage that personable avatar explaining things! She added a lot. I can also see that you brought in several Storyline blocks, which really built the interactivity.
You've got some wonderful ideas for the next generation of the AI abilities. I hope you're sharing them with the team.
