Week 2 Discussion
Welcome to the final discussion of the cohort! You’ve created your AI Course Draft in Rise and applied what you learned about AI Assistant. Now it is time to showcase your work and reflect on your experience.
🤩 This is your chance to show off your work!
- Copy the Quick Share link to the AI Course Draft you created in the Week 2 Hands On Challenge and paste it in a reply to this discussion.
- Unsure how to copy the Quick Share link? Watch this short video tutorial.
- Unsure how to copy the Quick Share link? Watch this short video tutorial.
- Below your Quick Share link, answer these two questions:
- What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects?
- Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise?
After you post, take a few minutes to look at your peers’ courses and reply to at least one other post. You might:
- Share what you liked about their course structure or content
- Call out an effective use of AI Assistant
- Offer one suggestion to make the course even stronger
This is your opportunity to showcase your work and learn from how others are using AI Assistant in their own designs!

Hi Team! Loved this course. Here is my creation I have to prep for travel but wanted to make sure I got my submission in
- CristiNymanCommunity Member
AlyssaGomez How do we know if I submission has been accepted or denied for certification?
Hi CristiNyman it usually takes me about 3 business days to review each submission, and then you can expect your badge. Your badge has been sent to you now, so please let me know if you don't see it!

- What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects?
A: As instructional designers we learn that adult learning derives from experiences and facts. Using the hook strategy was great and it will now become one of my favorite tips to use.
- Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise
A: The AI course draft generation added the most value by quickly creating a clear course structure and initial content, which helped me overcome the blank-page challenge and accelerate development. It was especially useful for outlining topics, drafting instructional text, generating images and generating baseline knowledge checks within Rise 360.
I needed to step in with my own expertise to tailor the content to the specific audience (tone), learning objectives based on resources content. Overall, the AI served as a strong starting point, while human expertise was essential for quality and effectiveness.

Nice Job!!
I'm so glad you liked the "open with a hook" strategy, mcarreras! Thanks for sharing your course with the group!

Hi team. Here's my creation:
Hi DonielleB please be sure to answer the two follow-up questions!
- What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects?
- Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise?

- I plan to use the tip for creating custom image styles to generate more consistency with images throughout the course.
- I used the rewrite with AI feature to turn my content into a scenario/story. That was impressive.
- The AI draft generator is good for jump starting ideas. I had to jump in with making the content digestible and engaging. Even with the images, it's too text heavy (IMO).

Hey abaldwin2025 don't forget to answer these two questions, too!

The course draft generation added the most value in saving time. I loved how it read the documents and created a full course. I did have to step in and customize some areas (I could've customized more), but overall, I see where this can save time when building a course.
One AI technique I plan to apply right away is the Instant Convert. Taking a section and converting it to another activity/view was a great time saver!

Note: I only edited/modified lesson one on my course (and the quiz at the end).
- What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects?
- I really liked the example of using AI to help create a hook or lead-in story. That is a great way to grab a students attention at the beginning of the course.
- Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise?
- I like the ability of the AI tool to analyze and organize the information into a good flow right from the start. I had to step in on the final details to ensure the tone, clarity, graphics, and interactions were aligned with my vision. But, the AI tool helped in those areas, too, and saved me a lot of time.
KyleNewell-4e9e I love the image style you used in your course! Would you mind sharing what style prompt you used to achieve those images?
- KyleNewell-4e9eCommunity Member
To start with, I asked AI to generate images as part of the course creation process. This was helpful to update images because I was able to "recycle" the description prompts for most of them. For the ones I added, I just used a simple prompt of my own.
For the Style Prompt, I simply used the "8-bit" option in the drop down. The expanded prompt reads:Pixel art style, limited color palette, retro video game aesthetic, 8-bit graphics, blocky textures, low-resolution details, pixelated outlines, layered background design, simple shading technique, nostalgic visual approach, flat color blocks, minimal anti-aliasing, sprite-like character design, side-scrolling perspective, chunky pixel clusters, dithering effects for color blending, depth created through color variation, classic gaming era visuals, simplified yet expressive scenery.

Your graphics are very cool. They reminded me of a video game. Great job!

I edited the first part "Understanding Team Happiness and Fulfillment".
This course really helped me understand how to use AI with Articulate!
This week I like how the lessons took more of a deep dive into using the custom AI prompt generator. There are so many different things that you can do with text and images when using it. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
Thanks so much for sharing your course, Ryan_Dykstra! What Ai prompting techniques were most helpful for you from this week's activities?

What’s one AI technique you learned that you plan to apply right away?
Using clear, structured prompts with constraints is a technique I plan to apply immediately to speed up drafting while getting more usable output on the first pass.Where did AI draft generation add the most value, and where did you need to step in?
AI added the most value by quickly generating a solid starting draft or structure. I needed to step in to refine but it provided a really solid start.Thank you for providing a great learning experience!

AlyssaGomez I won't be able to make it to the office hours today, but I have a couple of questions I'd love some feedback on, if possible.
- I always struggle with obtaining consistent characters when generating AI images. I'd love to leverage that more to maintain a consistent character throughout the course. Are there any tips to help acheive that?
- In Storyline, I typically use a template as a starting point for my courses. Are there any suggestions for leveraging AI to help generate "fresh" templates? I do update the style by selecting custom color palettes, fonts, etc., but I'd love to find a way to just quickly generate an entire template for use.
Hi KyleNewell-4e9e thanks for submitting these questions! I answered them in the Office Hours session today (skip to the 15:00 mark).
- The AI Assistant isn't great at creating consistent characters or people across multiple image generations yet. For now, I would look through our Free Characters library in the community to see if there are any characters that would work well for your courses!
- The AI Assistant doesn't generate templates or layouts in Storyline, but you may want to check out the templates you currently have access to in the Content Library. There are hundreds of slide layouts there, so you might find something that works for your current project!
