Week 2 - Group 3 Discussion
Hi everyone,
First I want to let everyone know that I'm not really "that student" who has to be first, do the thing ahead of time (ha ha!) -- it's just that I had time today and I'm booked the two real weeks of the course so I wanted to try to complete it while I had the chance.
Here's my course:

- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I made a bunch of changes to the course draft to improve learner engagement, but the three main ones are: I had it revise the learning objectives (it originally gave too many for a course of this length). I made a lot of changes to the theme including color and font choices. I utilized the AI generated images to add some more visual interest. Specifically, in the first lesson, I added images to each of the four pillars. I also used AI to generate the main course image (then cropped it). I also really enjoyed adding the audio pieces to the course. I made a "scenario" scene in the last lesson that I think will really increase learner engagement and interest.
I think the ability to take text then use the "generate AI prompt for image" feature was really helpful to me. I'd not tried that technique before and I felt like it was really useful. I also really appreciated the tip about using the same image style throughout in order to get more consistency.
The challenges were similar to ones I have in general getting an AI to do / produce what I want -- it's always about the prompt. For example, I realized that by writing "a diverse team of workers" I would get a better mix of race & gender than by writing "a team of diverse workers" (which resulted in almost all white male people in the group).
I will check back closer to the end of the cohort so I can see everyone else's creations! I'm looking forward to seeing what you all made! 😀
If you get a chance, I'd love for you to reply and tell me what you think about mine and if you have any suggestions (or if you noticed anything that I might have missed in terms of what the AI generated). Thanks in advance and I really enjoyed being in here with you all.
I experienced the same issue with a lack of diversity in the AI generated images, which I honestly find surprising these days. I don't recall the exact prompt I wrote, but I wanted an image of someone on a teams/online meeting with 9 participants and they were all white males. I had to specify "diverse" to get what I'd expect to see with that number of people in a request.
