Week 2 - Group 3 Discussion
Here is my QuickShare link: Building Happy and Fulfilled Teams: Essential Strategies for New Managers | Rise 360
- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
I made significant changes to the theming - lots of color and AI dividers to break up the linear structure of the course, divide areas of content, etc. I made a lot of changes to the text - changing the tone, making content shorter. So much text can feel overwhelming. I also created 3 audio scenarios. I asked the AI Assistant to take a paragraph of content and create a scenario from it. Then, I used a Custom block with audio in it with the scenario. I'm not always a fan of audio in courses, but I do like it here so the learner can experience something different from the constant text.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
Instant convert!! I love being able to convert a block and have options without spending the build time. Love to compare them, it helps me make better decisions. Also, the AI images - I did play with a custom prompt because I wanted the images to only use certain colors to match my theme. That was fun. Beats making tedious edits in Illustrator for hours, for sure! π
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
Sometimes, I ask it to make something shorter and it barely makes a dent. I quickly learned you can actually say - create 3 sentences or 4 bullet points. Images, too, but I just need to put in the prompt effort π
HeatherMichaelβ The audio scenarios were a creative use of AI to vary the learner experience and break up the reading flow! Instant convert really IS a game changer too! Being able to quickly compare layouts and interactions saves so much time on the development side of things. Interactions that used to take up hours are now done in the click of a button. Your reflection on prompting was spot on as well; AI definitely loves specificity!
